I'm a new guy on the block and need some help. Just bought a 2000 M2. I'm only 5'5 (shorty). One way or other, I got to get off my tippy toes!

Not like my 29" Intruder VS1400 to say the least.

Anybody know of any aftermarket lowering kits?

Dyna, That's not nice!!!

Seriously, check into a M2L seat. It may be all you need.
It will lower your ride by 1 inch. Might be just enough to feel more comfortable.
If you need more, you will have to replace a few parts. If you lower the shock and forks, you seriously mess with the handling.
The M2L has a different front shock mount for sure.
I can't recall if it had fork mods also. Seems to me it did.

Oh yea I forgot, when you refill the tires make sure you use "officially licensed & approved" Buell air. Otherwise your warranty may be affected.

M2L differs from M2 by...
Seat, Fork internals & sliders, Shock, (mount is same I think) and Kickstand. (don't forget the K-stand, or bike may fall down when parked.)

Where do you live? If you know someone nearby with a M2L, who wants more altitude (hint, hint) you can swap the above parts.

If you are just marginal the seat alone may be enough, it's not just shorter, it's narrower & lets the legs go down more directly.

Thanks everybody (so far).. I did find a bracket @ Americansportbike.com ..takes ya down 1"... $359.00 ... for that I might consider taking the seat off and sitting on the frame (haha)..one way or the other my M2's coming down.. can't just sit here lookin at it. Like havin hands tied round ur back while your getting harder and harder..haha.

Funny... I have a '02 M2L which I would like to "lift" some for greater suspension travel...

stubby.

LOL! That's 2 of you with no hint of where you live in your profile..
I live in upstate NY and would be willing to swap suspension bits from my M2L with a M2.

If I understand the parts manual, parts differences are suspension, seat, and K-stand. The Fork lowers are the same, the uppers, most internals (the cartridge & spacers) differ. The shock mount is the same part#, but the Shock is different.

I have speculated on the easiest way to swap parts. I think it would be easiest to swap the fork tubes intact, unbolting the brakes & wheels & retaining them. I'm not sure if it would be easier to swap triple clamps, (help? all you Buell experts!) A simple stand (wood blocks, race center stand) would work up front. To swap shocks, either a stand that supports the pegs, or straps to the ceiling (decent beam) will let you uncompress the rear suspension & pull the shock.

Seriously now, I would say get the M2 low seat & wear shoes with thicker soles...im not kidding. Thats what my wife did when she would ride the X1, she's maybe 5'6" perhaps even 5'7" at most & the shoes made all the difference in the world.

Dyna,
I had help from Docrecon and Timbo on getting my rear and front tire off my XB9R. Replaced my stock tires with new D208's. (Daughter got married this weekend so I had to put off putting the tires on until this evening.) Anyway, I cant get the belt on. I had no problem taking it off. Can you help me. I do not have a service manual. I am going to by a 12R as soon as I can, but my tires were really worn so I had to replace them in order to sell the 9R. Do not want to buy a manual for the 9 if I can help it.

Eddie
