Bike took a few scratches and the left pannier mount looks a bit tweaked. And I'm fine except for a slight pinch in my shoulder from picking it up. So bahahahahaha, indeed. Got her washed up all nice & purty as soon as I got home. That was fun as $hit. |

scotty gets lots of credit for even trying to run that spaceship out there (especially on those sneaks). a lesser man would have bought a dirtbike by now. |

That trail was FINE for the bike. The tires were sketchy only on one baby-head rocky uphill. And when I went down it was because of the Loch Ness monster hiding at the murky depths of that puddle pond. |

-off topic- Hey Froggy, did they change some site setting or something? I have to enter my log in every time I post, whether it's from work, home, or phone. What the fuzzle? Am I getting borked for selling my bigslowheavy? |

I noticed the same the other day, I haven't had a chance to look into it. Indeed it is annoying. |

Froggy is the Beetlejuice of Badweb, but you only have to say his name once. |

I have it setup to alert me when someone mentions "froggy". (Lies, but it was a hell of a coincidence with the timing of your post and when I make my bi-weekly voyage into NEBO) I got a PM regarding this issue too now, and one of the other moderators is affected too. It is annoying, but at least you can still browse most of badweb without logging in. If you need to get to the BRAN or Backfire Board, go to the main topics page, then press the login/out button at the top of the page. It will force log you off, then it will allow you to login again so you can get to those pages. I'll post an update when I learn more |

Ancient Software in this place. No $$$ in the kettle for upgrades? |

The issue isn't money. I've been trying to get the board swapped over for a while now, I will get to use this as another strike against the Discussware software. We did have a vBulletin test server for a little bit. |

My non-Buell riding vote is for vBulletin. Every respectable forum in the world is on that stuff; what's the holdup? ADVrider, NEstreetriders, SOHC4, NEHondaGuys, BuelletinBoard, hell, every forum I've bookmarked is on it. But what do I know, I don't even ride a Buell. Oh wait, I get it now: one outdated technology (HD V-twin) begets another (discussionware). Bi-weekly visit, Frogman? You should be in here every 5 minutes because we're gahdamn FUNNY. I gotta stop logging in after my third beer. (Message edited by Scotty_j on September 07, 2010) |

The main current setback is database related. Badweb is 13 years old, and probably has more threads than Bill Gates has dollars. Thats why in general the site gets screwy from time to time. Nobody back in the mid 90's imagined a forum growing to this size. Similar to Erik making lemonade out of a lemonish motor (sportster), this site has grown and evolved quite a bit over the years. But it is time to move on to something with a bit more umph The ideal solution in my opinion would be to lock down Badweb, and start fresh on Badweb2, running v-bulletin. Just import the user database (which also is a bit of a feat given the lack of a good converter tool), then we start over. Old Badweb would remain online in the background for archival purposes. That way years from now you could look back at Fagbolt and laugh at his posts. We aren't the last ones on Discussware, I saw some Goldwing forum a while back, it stuck out like a sore thumb! |

Hey Eric....... Did I leave my Icon skull helmet at your house from the July TD? The last time I had it was at the TD. I was looking for it and can't find it anywhere. |

A couple days late, but I can't WAIT for the day BWB goes vBulletin... I understand the reasons for keeping it old school, but I still severely disagree with the idea! As an aside, the final Tony's dates for the year are coming up soon: Sept 26 - Thunderbolt, NJ Sept 27 - Lightning, NJ Oct 4, 5 and 6 - New Hampshire. Beginners are welcome as always and encouraged at all days except October 6th, as normal instruction will not be happening on that date (hence the cheap price). First timers can do Oct 4 or 5 and then also do Oct 6th though. Anyway, all the pricing details are on these links... one for NH and one for NJ Now the bad news - I think my XB9 is retired from the track. I picked up an 08 SV650S a couple weeks ago (from another Bueller, so I'm not really sinning too bad ...but the SV is going to be a track bike for the rest of this season, and maybe a race bike next season } |

Any BadWebbers in the northeast want to do a bike swap for a few hours (or 24 hours)? I've been swapping my bike with guys on my local forum (nestreetriders.com) and I'm dying to ride an XB Buell for a little while. If you need any character references I can get you in touch with some people My current bike is a 07 DR650 converted into a supermoto. It's a really fun bike, and everyone who has ridden it has enjoyed it. So if anyone is interested let me know! -Sean |
