So with this post I will express my loathing and distain for all of you ULY badwebbers. This story begins a long time ago when I first saw the S-1 Lighting and then I had Buell lust. Fast forward to last year (Nov ’09), I’m deployed to Africa and HD dumps Buell. I’m not fond of my current daily rider (BMW K12R) and the great Buell sell off is going on. SO thanks to you lot of enablers and this forum and our friends at Iridium I start calling dealers looking for my ULY. First I try the HD/exchange program; they were fresh out of Buells. Then I started calling dealers at this time the prices started going back up but there was one dealer with a shiny new XT that was willing to take a deposit and wait for me to come home: Barbs H-D in NJ. I could spend lots of time blasting dealers for jerking me if you have any q’s shoot me a message but props go to Barbs. In Dec I make it home but my demobilization process gets butchered, so I am kept on orders until Jan. I call Barbs explain and they way cool. I am able to pick the bike up in late Dec. but due to the weather I have to trailer it back. I am able to get about 100 miles on it before I have to report back to VA. I go to VA and 2 things happen: Haiti goes and has an earthquake and the worst winter in history hits VA. Both events extend my orders to March. Finally in March I make it home and start riding the XT. IT IS GOOD!!! My only gripe is the Journey bags. In the 2 weeks I am home I rack up 2500 miles and then I must go back to work (my civilian job) So now you are reading this and thinking “WTF Rock why do you hate me?” This is why I have been on the Maersk Idaho since April and will get off right after Labor Day. Since I have been on here I have purchased the following things: Gobi bags 2 spare belts Race ECM LED driving lights Brake modulator Air horn X front fender plus some other odds and ends (bike/gear related) And because this is the US (where I don’t have to take responsibility for my actions) I BLAME ALL YOU for this!!! So with luck I will be home Sept 7th have all the goodies installed by the 8th and ride in for weekend drill on the 10th I’ll get some before and after pics , you lousy lot of enablers!!! |

Oh, your just inviting the pain now. +1 to the Fatty-B voltage indicator mod. You may also want to add a 2010 rear wheel to your list. |

I hate to see you in such misery. I'd love to help. Send me a belt, the gobi's, and the race ecm, hell the X fender as well. Go back to the BMW, removing the grin from thy face. There feel better now? Wait till you get some more miles on, she'll get stronger all the time. Between 10K-15K the thing really starts to come alive. |

I hope you like the Gobi bags. The Journeys hold up better than expected in a crash and the Gobi's on my 990 Adv are dang heavy (I'll admit they lend a more serious adventure aura to the bike). Don't leave off the heated grips and maybe Aprilia mirrors. |

Got home (MD) yesterday.....Today put 200 miles on it i <3 ULY. Installed the Race ECM, yep a good thing, I like the GOBIES, honestly they are heavier than the Journey's but the top loading worth. The Kisan brake modulator fast install and has been working well Last install was the Stebel Air horn. I think I gave some one a heart attack..... This took a while, had to jimmie some stuff around under the fly screen. I have 2900 miles on the bike at the next oil change will swap out the belts. |

Hey Jamie - welcome home and thank you. I'm just out 70 in Fredneck if you need anything, or just want an excuse to tool around the mountains a little bit. Feel free to add me (and my stable of Buells) to the Blame List. |

Hey, you also definitely need the Aprilia Mirrors and the Grip Skins from Al at American Sport Bike. When you wear out the stock rubber (won't take you long at this pace) the Pirelli Scorpion Trails are nice. |
