Dang, this is right before im scheduled to fly home from Okinawa, Japan to go on terminal leave and get out of the Marines. ill see if i cant up my schedule a little bit. if not it looks like ill just wait till the next one. gotta get a new license since i have been out of the country for so long.lol Edit: i reviewed the route and distance from where my home is and its at least 12 hours ride to get there so its not gonna happen this year even if i were to go home and get my paperwork in order. im too green for a ride like that yet. too bad too, ill be out next year for sure though.

Matt, don't sweat it. We'll have one next year. And you're welcome to come out any time you like. We're always up for rides. Lots of good rides in this area. Colorado is always good, too. Hope to see you next year!
OK, at this point, I think we're relatively firmed up on who's attending and who's not. So the new list is:
CJ Rodden Anthony Rodden Edward Junker Frank Skinner Lynn Twohig Loren (Gowindward)+ girlfriend Dave & Denise Kaminen Bob & Diane Rowledge Kim Pritchard Jody Leavell Murrae Haynes Mabel Chin Brad & Luann Harrah Luis Sanchez-Saturno Nick Karnezis + wife Jeff & Julie Ring Jim Goettsche Shane Clay Don Schwartz Czullo Bholmes
Plus Reiver can't come but ordered a shirt.
If you are coming to this event and are not on this list, it's time to ping me with an RSVP. I will need to adjust my shirt order and our lunch reservation (which is confirmed at Embudo Station).
This is going to be a great rally! Looking forward to seeing you all! CJR
OK folks... it's crunch time! You can see the list of RSVP's above. Some of us are talking about meeting for dinner on Friday night at Texas Red's steak house. Several groups have said they'll arrive around 6pm and so dinner may be around 7pm or so.
Lunch at Embudo Station is set for 1230 on Saturday. Dinner at Roberto's for 6pm Saturday. Breakfast on own Sunday.
We hit the road this morning and made it into the Land of Enchantment. Holding up in Clayton tonight and will make our way in to Red River tomorrow and start being tourist. Count Meribeth and me in for dinner Friday evening.
Loren, if you're in Clayton now, you'll be the first into Red River. If you have time to explore, check out US64 from Tres Piedras to Tierra Amarilla. It's one of the best roads in New Mexico. Then you can jump over to Chama for lunch. There are a couple of nice greasy spoons there.
If you want a nice loop, you could go south out of Tierra Amarilla on US84, then cut across NM554 just past Abiquiu. That'll take you to US285 where you can turn north back to Tres Piedras, then east back to Taos. Great all day ride.
Red River is a cool town. Very quite. I would like a little place up there some day. 2 or 3 acres and a cabin. Would be a great base for rides and skiing trips.
US64 from TA to TP is awesome. Try and ride that road if you can.
Was such a fun trip....and great to see everyone!!.......watching my videos though I can see were I go wrong...I am leaning my bike but my body is'nt matching what my bike is doing....practice...practice... Everyone ride safe and take care...can't wait till the next ride!!.....p.s....C.J and Dave thanks so much for putting on such a fun event!!
Just to let you all know, Loren and Meribeth broke down in Silma Colorado (Highway 24 East between Colorado Springs and Limon). I picked them up and they are back on the road today as of 0900 with the S3 in the back of a Uhaul.
Apparently the rear tire rubbed through the fender then the oil bag causing Meribeth to get covered in oil.
I imagine they will post up when they have arrived home.
Thanks for the update, Frank! We also had a breakdown on the way home. Ed's clutch cable snapped in Espanola, about 70 miles from home. Angela brought the truck and picked him up.
Meanwhile, we're already thinking about next year and open to feedback and suggestions. I think the real let down is that there is so little chance of actual swag in future years. We really did get the last of it this time.

Didn't hear about Ed's clutch cable until now...we were busy just keeping up with Murrae. Stopped in Tesuque (Valero) as planned... Murrae went on ahead...
