Sorry just noticed something. 120 miles takes 4 to 5 hours??? I know these are supposed to be good roads but that would be like driving the dragon for 120 miles for it to take that long!! Lets do a nice midafternoon/evening/findsomefood ride on Friday maybe 60 to 120 miles.(we should be in friday by 2 at the latest, may even leave thurs depending on Ben's bike situation) Does this guy realize that we travel at a little brisker pace than the Harley guys? I think we should do a minimum of 200 on Sat. Lets get up early get some breakfast, ride for 3 or 4 hours, find some lunch and ride until dinner time. Get in to camp or dinner say 5 or 6 and kick back with a few cocktails around the bonfire and discuss the days events. Then again I've never been there and you guys would have a better idea. Just would like to make an entire day of riding on Sat. Just trying to help kick around a few ideas. Whats everyone think? Keith p.s. Bob, I know your lurking, please give us your input. you have probably spent more time down there than we have. edited by gravedigger on August 29, 2003 |

Frank...Bill and Janie at Iron Horse are really nice people...Bill is also an AR State Rep so don't get toooo amorous and/or inebriated with your pillion ‘cuz Bill can legally marry you…I attended a biker wedding there earlier this summer and Bill did the honors quite nicely… Tours…You don’t need no stinkin’ tours…Especially since you’ll be led around by someone on a cruiser…That’s why: ”...several 60 mile trips, to the more involved 120 mile trips (which usually last 4-5 hours depending on stops).”…Hell, 120 mi should take you guys a bit over 2 hrs… DAve, John and I will put our heads together and suggest some roads but we can tell you now that if you don’t ride AR 341 (Push Mtn Rd) and 123, just shoot yourselves…I thought Sam had been down there and knew the roads… I’m an idiot (but you knew that) ‘cuz I’ve looked back and even used the search tool to try and find the dates you are going and couldn’t find them…Please let me know the dates… See Ya! Bob

Dates are Sept. 19th weekend...... yes I have been down there and yes I have a few suggestions...... will be talking to Frank about it and put it to you all for a decision.... it will definately include hwy 341 and probably a lot of 76....there are a few spots I remember vividly as "must rides" but the last time I was down there they had resurfaced with chip and seal. I will check with my local authority on the subject. A tour guide will slow all of you down!!!!!! screw that! |

Sam…HSTA friends of ours, Kathy and Arild, who live in AR turned us on to AR 123 earlier this summer…It is a mtn road that was just paved last year (the portion below 16) and it’s wild…Bill and Janie know about it and kinda warn their cruiser clients away from it…We used this book and it was invaluable… http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0971897301/102-2536971-1513746?vi= glance Have Fun, Bob

So just to check back on it.. Anyone up for the lunch ride this weekend?!? Speak up tonight if possible specially since we may be going tommorrow! I know Sam and Frank are busy on Sunday. Sam expressed a tiny bit of interest in possibly going Saturday. Anyone else want to go? I'm worried that if just Sam and I meet up, it will be Sam and I riding alone as I probably won't be able to keep up!! Rusty A Buell-B-Que sounds fun! |

Fuscat... You won't be seeing me for the ride... I have my son this weekend... and I have a life-long respiratory problem that appears to be heading in the direction of pneumonia again. The prayer list worked... the XB9S in now home... and it appears the oil leak is fixed... however... I doubt I will be able to ride much while coughing up a lung every few minutes... that would make those tight turns even more of a challenge!!! I guess the good news is... that if it is pneumonia that develops... I will have that time off work I need to move into the new house!!! :-) Later everyone!! |

Frank, Do you guys want to post any of this on the Quick Board section or the other storm fronts? Maybe we can get a few others to come in from other areas? If I could figure out how to make a living down there I would be gone tomorrow...... all of you have a asafe holiday weekend and be sure to squeeze whatever miles in that you can and I'll do the same |

Derek, I can't ride today gotta help a friend move, but tomorrow sounds good. Anybody want to ride out to Lawrence tomorrow morning and get lunch????? Frank, Could you put me down for a hotel room, but I'd take a hut if that falls thru. Also, my wife is talking about driving the car down to Eureka Springs and meeting us. If anybody's wife or girlfriend wants to ride down in the car with her let me know. |

Neill It doesn't seem like the weather is going to co-operate much with us. Supposed to be heavy rain all day long again. |
