I went into this whole thing with my eyes open. I knew this bike was an orphan when I got it, and that support of any kind from the Mothership would be very hard to come by. I consider the expense and trouble I've gone through to date to be well worth it. I'm still thrilled every time I'm on it. |

I am keeping my 09 R. If I had the money I'd get another Buell. |

I'm keeping my 08 1125R until Ducati starts making the 1098s for $6000 new or an 1190R hits the market and I have some extra cash. |

Stator failed and was seriously debating unloading it due to parts availability under warranty. I love this bike and wouldn't consider selling other than parts availability. Now after seeing what it's worth on the market, I can't sell it based on principle. |

I have to keep mine, still owe $8,600, bought new last day of May 2009. I really like its performance,, and really thats part of the problem since Oregon has become a police state. I swear theres a cop behind every bush and road sign with a radar camera, "Fines Double" signs everywhere. Thats the new name I gave my state, "Fines Double"! |

> Oregon has become a police state It's not just Oregon, it's everywhere. Budgets are tight, it's politically difficult to raise taxes, so fines and fees are seen as a way to sure up local budgets. We have tens of cities in Texas where more than 75% of the entire municipal budget is speeding tickets. I look at track fees as what I would have paid in tickets and "deferred/probation" agreements anyway, so it's just a wash. |

I may be way off here but has anyone considered the charging system issue as a Rotax problem? I guess what I'm saying is, Rotax built the motor via Buell specs sure but at the same time there are sure to be parts used from other machines. Would it make sense to build a completely new charging system for a new machine when a proven one is on the shelf? Do the Aprilia's have charging issues? Could there parts and our parts interchange? Just asking. |

> Do the Aprilia's have charging issues? Yea, the RSVR has a well documented tendency to burn up stators. There's several known rewinding services recommended by any number of RSVR owners as a result. |

I take it you are willing to volunteer to manually convert every thread made in the last 13 years one by one to vBulliten format. That is the reason we haven't switched. Trust me, it is being worked on. |

We have vBulletin on our Porsche board and it absolutely sucks. It's not a dialogue . . . it's a lifestyle. |

Froggy, Do you have to convert all of the old posts? I am very active on the EVGA forums, and when they switched to a new format, they left the old one up so people could still access all the old posts. I don't know if that is possible to do with this forum, but it is just a thought. |

some of my favorite forums: reno4x4.com pirate4x4.com competitiondiesel.com all vbulletin. court: what do you dislike about vbulletin? the search functions are easier, they dont have the incredibly annoying archive thing that this board has, private messages are easier to use, quoting messages are easier.... |

I agree with ALL of that with the possible exception of the PM's. I mean Badweb PM's show right up on my iPhone . . can't get much easier. My problem with vBulletin is that it's like a friction' circus . . . between all the ads flying by, the polls, the "garages" and the hundreds of features . . . well, that'd be good if I were spec'ing out the panel of a new plane with avionics (I'm a big of a gadget-head) but if all I want to do is "read information" Badweb excels. I come in . . . albeit less and less as time passes . . . .enter "new pots since I was last here" . . see everything and it . .. well, it just works. I suppose we'll get it in time and I'd suggest whoever is making the call discount my opinion since I'm moving from incessant user, I think one of the few who has been here continuously since day one . . . to intermittent user. I do understand and accept that the newer and younger crowd are used to and comfy with vBulletin. |

Court, you are just old (Although from what I was seeing on the test server, things wouldn't be that much different than present day Badweb) I do agree about the PM's Court. It is fantastic being emailed, they go right to my phone, and I can answer them quickly. It annoys me on other forums, I get a PM, it sends me an email that says "You received a message from XYZ, with the subject ABC. Please log in to view it." It already went through the BS of sending me an email and telling me the name and subject, would it hurt to show the message? I ended up disabling PM's on other forums because I didn't want to get anyones hopes up, as I would never bother to log in just to read it. Pizza, I will mention your offer to the gods. I do want to see the conversion happen. (Message edited by froggy on August 26, 2010) |

the software is fine. some of the people here are broken though! I'm still up in the air about the bike. It's been at the dealer for 3 days now (I know, not a long time compared to some) but am not too thrilled on the updates I've gotten thus far. |
