More camping and this time at Eleven Mile Canyon. This one was not without incident.
The Awning is not supposed to look like that. You all know how quick a storm can come up in Colorado and on did and the Awning (which was stacked down) blew straight up. This happened about an hour after I broke the gas line LOL...I had a portable stove stored in the camper so we where prepared. All an all we had a great time and met some great people.
Lately I have seen a bunch of Marines in the hall ways and quickly deduced that they had sometype of USMC meeting going on. It is strange to see a ONE service confernece as we are Joint and Bi-National commands'.
I notice a short female USMC COL in the hallway and I knew I had seen her somewhere. It took a few minutes but remember she was at Camp Lejeune and was COL Hodges... The same COL Hodges that started the Hardcorps Warrior program at Camp Lejeune for Marines that served in combat in three wars. My Dad got this award a few months before he passed.
Camping at Rampart. We did a one nighter up there. The camp ground I wanted was not close to the lake so no fishing.
It is a very nice place however there is always a group that is loud and they were right up until 10pm.. That sucked. A young couple next to us got a flat and lucky for them I carry a 12 volt air pump... They got it plugged in woodland park and I check it this morning and they are good to go.
We did a little cold weather camping this weekend down at Pueblo Lake.
We were the only ones in the camp ground. Amazing.
I figured it is too cold to tent camp and most of the 5th wheels, travel trailers, class As through B most likely have been winterized while all I did was train the tank, took 5 gallons of drinking water and we were set for the weekend. The heater did kick on a bit last night but we were comfy.
great stuff you two, wish I could have joined you. Looks like you could haul a tent and bag for me to ride out on an adventure with you. Been a long time since I've seen a campfire in Colorado. (side of a mountain doesn't count)
It is a very beautiful place Jody...was super, super windy...the camper did ok...except for the vent above were we sleep almost got ripped off so Frank had to duct tape it to the camper. Other than that was a great weekend...this morning we woke up light snow fog at lathrop...pretty...

Anytime Dave, (gotta get Bones out too) camping season is almost over. We stop the normal camping around Memorial Day weekend then pick it up around Oct again.....
Frank, I asked on FB about how visible the stars were out at the dunes. How visible are they? Great pictures and I noticed scrolling through here how much healthier you are looking than this time last year. Good to see! I am going to take the bike up to High Country to have stator 4 replaced under warranty this Friday. Are you and Lynn camping again this weekend? If not I may stop by and bring you the antenna.
Oh, you can tell Lynn to ask me about my girlfriend when she sees me next!
Don't know Jody I really did not notice, for some reason the bugs were pretty bad so at dusk we were inside the camper. I do not think we are camping and you are always welcome to stop by.
