Well after 22,000 miles my belt broke and only a block away from home...not too bad. I'm in Canada eh...anyways I phone my dealer and asked them about getting a belt for my 07 XB12ss...I'm on my way. Hold on a sec we don't have any...4-6 week wait and they are back ordered too...WTF...holy #%*&%# and some other words later. He said my best chance a getting one was ebay!!...lol. After freaking out a bit...I call Iron machine at 9am eastern = 4am west coast...lol. He answers anyways...cool dude...he sold his last one...maybe wait a week or so for another shipment...he gets them from the the east anyways. I phone a Harley dealer in North Tonawanda Buffalo NY...he says none in NY state...maybe 7 days or so. I'll get back to you I might make the trip.... I email California this time American Sportbike After a couple anxious hours they email...5 came in were sending you 2...holy crap batman. Is there a problem out there for belts...?? They are Goodyear...where are they shipped out from and why the problems getting them? Anyone? I'm glad I got mine...never again. How long do they last usually? Anything to know or pointers about the install...much appreciate any advice or words of wisdom. Thanks guys....and thanks to Al and Joanne...the best I tell ya. |

I happen to know of one in NY state if those others fell through, but with American Sport Bike you are in good hands. Belts are a real crap shoot with life. Some will have broken them on brand new bikes in the dealer parking lot, some have gone over 75k miles without an issue. Nothing you can really do other than change it before it snaps. |

I just got one from American Sport Bike a couple weeks ago. They had that and a list of other things all in stock and shipped it out that same day. Great service! My current belt is coming up on 35K, and I thought I would change it out and keep the old one as a spare. |

Thanks for the replies guys...American Sport Bike are great...bought parts a few times already this year. The price in Canada for a belt is $269 + tax = $300... States $175...unbelievable. And the dollar is pretty close to par...I gotta move. |

The way Obama and the gang are handling things, expect a population increase in your area in the future. |

Really insist on shipping USPS if you don't want to get hit with all the border charges. I'm in a similar boat but I'll ship to my bro in NY. |

I just popped a belt on my 09 bolt last Monday. Belt came into the dealership yesterday.(1 week) Should be able to pick up the bike tonight. Bike had 26k on it. It's my 4th Buell. First time I broke a belt. Weird. But thankfully its under warranty. Just odd that I get a belt in a week and some guys can't get one from a dealer for months. |

I'm about a hour north of Toronto in Ontario....generally "my" riding season is from April to Dec 1st or so...I was out riding in March this year which was unusual. We had a warm and not much snow last winter...global warming luv it. I think part of our problem is Trev Deeley Harley Davidson ...the exclusive distributor of Harley and Buell in Canada...not sure how it all works...but they are the middle man and as we can see it doesn't work so good for Buell...lol. No problem though...I just order from the States... |

Yea... My riding season is over when theres snow on the ground and it's 12 degrees. I'm going to order a belt soon so I have one before mine breaks. 18000 mi. so far with no issues. |

Well got the belts this morning...nearly hugged the postal dude. Thanks to American Sport Bike for the quick response. Got the belt on relatively easy...the last bolt on the swing arm piece ...was buggered though...head was stripped a bit from the factory...I was thinkin I would have to drill it out...but with some luck it turned out. Bought a new bolt at Brafasco...and was good to go. Thank god the withdrawl pains were killin me...6days whoa! |

Do they ship USPS? What was the hit from customs? Total Canadian cost? I'm looking at doing that right about now as well. |

Nice, no customs charges? Gotta love USPS. (For the US reader, sales tax brings it to about $300. Our dollars are pretty close to even right now.) |
