Yes it is a trip an a Half but the roads are awesome, We would have are own guide (Newfie) Screeeech up the wazzoo and a great bunch of stories to tell. THEN we can all ride back to Wisconsin for a wicked HomeComming. Dates will be in August seeing that it is the only time it won't be snowing there. So who's in? |

You mean a week on the island with you guys, Then a Week in Wisconsin. HOLY SHIT thats a lot of riding - but I did it before so I can do it again. The good thing is that most of your bikes have real seats. Count me in - I got a place on the southern Avalon Peninsula (overlooking the ocean) that we could crash for a day or so too. |

Your definately gonna need more than 2 days to see the island. From Detroit you can get here in two days - just watch the cops in Quebec. You will need another three days minimum to see what I want to show you. If you want to go to where the Vikings landed on the Island then add another 2 days to the trip. Ok back to the three day thing - come onto the island on west coast ride across (of course taking the scenic twisty route) spend two days riding around my side of the island, stay at a place I can get on the south east coast then leave by way of Argentia to go back to the mainland. Three days back to Wisconsin for a homecoming event. This is starting to sound real possible. Here is my folks place a bunch of us could stay - there is now a two storey garage (certain individuals said I pronounced that word wrong) in the garden as well This of course is what the front deck of the house looks out onto Its so invigorating to stand on that beach and feel the crisp salt sea mist on your face then take a deep breath of the freshest/cleanest air you will ever breathe. May even see one of these: Did I mention I just LOVE this place. Couple of more pictures: or to see this I am getting carried away now - hehehehehe - think I'll go ride alone the coast somewhere. |

Oh yeah one more of the Capital City (St. John's) This shot was taken when I walked out onto the cliffs and took the picture from the perspective of entering the harbour. I marked where my house is with a white X.

I'm in, might as well have all of you stop by Pennsylvania, on the way. The Poconos are great. Seriously though, co-op job is done in March, graduation is in June, and I'm not planning on getting a real job for a while...

Icebergs are here late June and most of July, sometimes they stay around in August but by then they are melted. I will plan a route to enter the island and exit about 4 days later so then all we have to decide is when. |

After my trip to New England last month I was thinking of a family trip out there again next summer. That's why I was thinking of trailering the bike. I could do the family thing then we could come up and see Newfieland. I like the trip back to WI too. Those dates would work for me since school doesn't start up till later. I'm sure we could work out some sort of arrangement with trailers & such for those of us weenies (actually it is the time factor) for the long drive. Did I mention that my wife was 100% Norwegian? She would have to go to see where her ancestors landed. |

I'm sure we could work out some sort of arrangement with trailers & such for those of us weenies (actually it is the time factor) for the long drive. I was thinking about the idea of shipping my bike to the New England area like Boston or Portland. I could then fly one way there, pick up my bike and ride to Newfoundland and then ride back. This would take care of the weenie/time factor (they are related) but would raise the money factor. Oh well, it gives me something to think about this winter! |
