I have an 08 XB12S with the latest flash. It has had 'running' problems since new. Before replacing some stuff last time the EMCSPY showed an AFV value of around 74. After the last repairs and going through about a tank of gas it is reading 85. The ERO (I don't think that is what it is called, right next to the AFV seems to fluctuate from 70 to 90 depending on the RPM but the AFV stays on 85. The cold start correction starts at 130 and eventually goes down to 100. The AFV seems really low to me. What do you think? I'm using EMCSPY version that was released right before they closed down. My race kit 04 XB12R indicated about 110 on the AFV. |

Before reading this low AFV, you've given bike a nice cruise to recalibrate ECM and after it's warmed-up? Low AFV applies a factor in ECM to decreases fuel from amount indicated by fuel injection system's other variables; like fuel map(s), RPM, throttle position, cylinder head temperature, and intake air temp. If you re-set AFV to 100, it's gonna run rich (too much fuel), at least at rear cylinder. (Just FYI: how I understand situation you're facing.) |

The bike had been cruised for a while and was warm. Before the parts were replaced I could reset it at 100 then it would go down to 74. As I understand the AFV is a percentage that is applied to the whole map to adjust air fuel ratio for such things as altitude, humidity, temperature, etc. I also think that it should stay around 100% plus or minus 10 percent. I assume when they remapped the bike with the latest flash and reset everything after replacing the IAC and TPS it would have been reset back to 100. After riding it 100 miles it should now have the new 'learn' applied. My question is: is 85% what other 2008, 09 and 10 owners see? Or is the version of EMCSPY just not compatible with the 08 models? |

OK. 100% AFV, reflects O2 sensor output; isn't this the same every year? |

I'm with you, tho. Wish I could address posts to only owners of '04 XB12s with Micron exhaust. Best wishes. (edit function wouldn't "complete" in Chrome) |
