I`m 44, been riding since I`ve around 11. I bought my `06 Uly for my 40th. First new vehicle I ever bought, always bought used. So of course HD just had to dump Buell, just my luck. I have a FXR, which evolved into a sport tourer and I put around 80k on it. My Uly has 15k on it. I have not been able to ride much this year on account of my 8 week old son. I`ve had some back trouble too, aging sucks! Love my Uly, though, don`t plan on getting rid of it. BadWeb has a lot to do with that! Still love dirt ridin too, but not on the Uly. My DRZ400 is the tool for the dirt. |

Froggy I believe you did. But, seeing how you are only fourteen years old yourself, it seems like when it is coming from an adult, the question has more merit. Sorry dude! |

Froggy, This isn't a survey, it's just old fartz talking. None of us remembers the last couple "how old are Buell riders" survey taken about 3 times a year. This is how OLD is OLD? |

I'm 42. Still have my Firebolt to have fun with too. Funny thing is, both bikes have been sitting for over a month waiting for parts! Thanks H-D! |

When is Froggy gonna' fess up? He's the oldest of the old farts and has forgotten more about Uly's than most of us put together will ever know. It's that darn mask the vain sucka' insists on wearing that fools folks. He wants to be seen as 23 FOREVER! I can't blame him for that but come on Froggy, fess up. Your secret will be safe with us - heck, we'd forget even if we didn't want to! (Message edited by buellerxt on August 21, 2010) |

I'm 50 so am as old as a very tall oak tree and I get that junk from AARP too, the effers. Just what I need after a long day at work, a little something to cheer me up! Luckily, I'm very immature for my age! |

Didn't I do a survey like this a few months ago? Froggy, if you did and can't remember it, you just may be well on your way to joining of the "Old Farts Club."

I know the exact dates of the last 2 times I did a survey (as I still got the spreadsheet), it was a rhetorical question |

I'm 58 and still kicking, just not as high as I used to. But also I don't look for as high up so it averages out. |

29 with 25 years of experience. I'm digging the Uly more every time I ride it. I can see an 09 or a 10 in the near future. Needs to be a bit less tall than the X. 4500 on the S2 so far this year, maybe 2000 or so on the Uly. Brad |

I'll be 63 next month. Been riding for 50 years. The '06 Uly (on which I've put 85,000 miles) is the second most fun-to-ride bike I've ever owned. I'm on vacation for a week with Mrs. Greg in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, so I oughta have enough time to write up a report on the "first" most fun-to-ride bike I've ever owned. --Doc |

45 here. The 09 Uly is the 1st new bike I have purchased to date. I've been riding street bikes since I was 16. The ULY is also the 1st V-Twin I have owned. |

Tachout! Say it ain't so! The bearings were 'shot' on the 2010 XT with only 10,000 miles? All three? Thanks. |

i wish i could say it ain't so but i would be lying. other than the kickstand and ground issue i had no problems on the 06 uly.i was hoping all the problems were gone with the 2010 but i guess i was wrong. |

Maybe I will not be upgrading to the 2010 wheel after all. |

Thanks, Tachout, and sorry for the problem. Thankfully, it is under warranty. Were all three shot? What kind of conditions did you ride in? What was your 2006 bearing experience? Thanks for sharing. I think I'll re-pack my bearings at tire changes and not 'count on' the 2010 wheel being the fix. |

UPDATE:i work at a harley dealer (for the last 20yrs)i tell the guys in the back that i'm going to put tires on my uly after work to leave a lift open.the head mechanic and fellow buell owner says no problem I'LL do it for you. cool by me. front tire no problem. at 5:00pm friday the mechanic says we have a problem. the rear wheel won't spin smoothly. so he says your bearings are toast. i say thats not suppose to happen on the 2010's. well we don't have the bearings in stock the dealer in jax. does so i call and have them overnighted saturday delivery(not cheap)they show up at 11:00am today. indy here i come. then at 3:30 today the service writer says we have a problem. we don't have the new bearing puller for the 2010 models.indy trip starts to fade. then he says and you are missing a spacer for the rear wheel. at which time our new mechanic fresh out of MMI says i didn't see a spacer when i took off the wheel. i say didn't billy (our head mechanic) work on my uly and the new guy says no i did. SAY WHAT!!! then the service writer says why don't you take your ultra. because i want to take my uly and why was the new guy working on my buell!!! i don't want to take the ultra for two reasons #1 i like the uly better #2 i'm not at all happy with mister wandell and his decisons and i'm going to ride my uly with the harleys around the track and want to do it full BUELL COLORS ON MY ULY. long story short the bearings are fine i found the spacer on the tire balance machine. excuse me but i just had to scream. alright better now. the rear wheel spins just fine now. sorry for the misinformation and i hope to see some of you in indy. |
