Hey all
Man its too bad some of us are so spread out. If North carolina and Iowa were closer together we would see more happy buell people than we could count. I am not trying to toot any horns here.
It is no secret that Dave is my mentor altho we've only met in person once, and we live so far apart. But the goal is the same. CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! It is what is missing in all things these days not just our little Buell world. This just happens to be where we apply it.
I took over all things buell here at Tilley's 3 months ago and it was with the help of Dave, who was kinda enuff to give me some knowledge to help persuade and create my position here. I thank him profusley for that.
Now since I took this over I work 60 hours a week doing my thing. Yes it is stressful and time consuming. I still work on bikes. I sell them , I am the parts manager, shipping and recieving and basically anything that has the buell name on it. Sometimes its an overload and I get help from a great lady named Kathleen here that really knows here stuff. Her husband used to be an independent buell racer around here and she loves the bikes also.
Too finally stop my early morning sunday ramblins. In the last three months I've have made 13 new happy buell riders and freinds . Not bad for a rookie I say. Yesterday we had a buell/brag appreciation day and now our club has 16 members. I am still trying to sell that first 12, seems here in the twisties of ol NC people just love those 9's.
I have been picking at the stock of alledged buell dealers here and love seeing there faces when they here how I am doing. They just don't get it!! I have helped a few Bad webbers and others out and shipped them some stuff that they couldn't get in they're areas. The job well done is what makes me feel good and then when the people say thanks its the icing on the cake.
Ok I'll shut up now. Thanks again to all of you that have giving me a chance to help. and to all of those that have helped me out. It seems to be a team project!

Brain:

Excellent work and the KEY, me thinks, is having ONE PERSON accountable for anything that carries the word BUELL.

This is not the perfect model, it's a temporary way as skills evolve.

Folks like you are Dave are bold enough to be "on the edge" at the moment, you are leaders. Dave, in addition to doing his thing, had done an exemplary job of serving as a role model to folks who'd prefer not to admit it.

The horsephooey about Buell being tough to seel because of (insert whiney excuse here) is history.

In addition, Buell offers the keen sighted dealer the chance to relearn and hone some SALES skills that may become useful if the fuzz ever comes off $25K Harley-Davidsons.

Simple skills, people skills and combining old fashion service with new fangled tools....it's a good thing.

Thank you for your hard work...

I will toot Brian's horn for him -- he seems a bit reluctant to do so.

I was home, Pumpkin Center NC, about a month ago and I was in dire need of a Buell fix. I had been in one our world's shit-holes for a while and was overjoyed at being home for a little while. Over a cup of coffee at one of the local Choke-N-Pukes I ran in to one of my HOG buddies and he told me about the new Tilley's location. I decided to run by and have a look. I arrived prior to their official opening time and was doing some old fashioned window shopping -- the facility is freaking awesome. I hear something coming up the road and it's a XB9R -- well ridden too! -- Turns out that it's Brian and he gives me a grand tour of the joint. I pick up some shirts, exchange email addresses, and we part company.

I've never been treated better by any dealership. I'm switching dealerships as soon as I get home. I don't have anything bad to say about my old dealership and they've treated me great over the years. I hate to leave them because when it comes to HD 'stuff' they've been wonderful. They know you by name the moment you walk in the door; from the girl in t-shirts to the guy running the garage. Leaving such a comfortable situation is hard (a bit dramatic but I do love my motorcyles) but I'm making the switch. Why would a person leave a dealer after many, many, years of good service? I'm leaving because Brian understands my passion for the Buell and he's committed to the customer.

I would also like to add that reading all the posts on this board has been out-freaking-standing. I've never physically ridden with a single person on this board but I feel like I have. I don't recommend you getting your twisty fix on-line, but if you have no other options it will help to fill the void. Take care and keep posting -- I need my fix!

Good Lord willing I will be back in Pumpkin Center mid-October and I'm already planning my riding time. My Project Manager (wife of 22 years) has my schedule pretty full for the first few weeks, but she has relented just a bit for some serious seat time. I just can't wait guys/gals. I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting on Santa Claus.

I also think Brian is doing a great job and I am sure he will succeed in bringing Tilley's into the "good Buell dealer" group(a group that seems to be getting bigger every year).

Brian, I don't know if any one area could handle "both" of us! Maybe it's good to have some distance between us.
Just think, one Buell dealer with you,me,Craig and Spidey working there. Wouldn't that be something!

Ride to the edge!
