Just started getting the S2 back in shape. Have to replace the headlight.........(must have caught a Texas rock). I'm finally going to put some springs on the foot pegs...........but......can't find any Buell ones.......(called about 10 dealers). Any suggestions?? Also........has anyone used the Muller clutch lever set up?? Seems a little pricey.... Ride safe........Jack |

Jack, the Buell pegs are actually Sporty pegs. Next time you call your dealer ask for the Sportster vice the Buell. Here is your headlight: http://www.quadratec.com/products/97009_02.htm Frank |

Jack, my mistake, I thought you wanted to stock ones. I am not sure I know what a spring loaded foot peg is. I kind of like the stock foot pegs on mine. They are springy enough that I do not feel a lot of vibrations through them. Frank |

+1 on the Hella updated headlight that Frank posted. That's what I run. White, actual LIGHT instead of the nearly-candle-looking yellowish stocker...and it's a replacable bulb like most every other vehicle now, so you don't have to take everything apart if your light dies. Standard H4 bulb now. MUCH better for my money. |

Hey guys......thanks for the answers! I installed a H4 years ago.......(Doug........it is just a R n R).......well worth the $60.00 + and a couple hours labor. No idea what a left dip HID is?? Bartimus.........good deal......It will go on the "List". Frank.......they just stay down in the riding position.......so if they get kicked/knocked to the up position, they just return back. I too like the spongy rubber tho. Ebucth........I didn't know.........(or probably forgot)........the the 3t's came with them. I will expand my looking. Ride safe......Jack (Message edited by jvv on June 14, 2010) |

Right Dip is a US beam pattern, goes up on the right for street signs, down on the left for oncoming traffic. Point it at a wall, your beam looks like _/ Left dip is euro-spec, for driving on the wrong side of the road. Low on right, high on left for their street signs: \_ Doug - no wiring upgrade, but I did have to trim the rubber boot on the light to get the S2 connector to fit tightly. Plug and play otherwise. |

Still getting the parts together. Just picked up a set of S3T bags.........does anyone have the part number for the brackets that mount the 3 bags on the 2?? Pretty fat chance of finding them, but will give it a try. I have a post on the main board to get the S3T bracket numbers. Just got back from a 4 day ride up into Washington and back on a "new to me" 09 Road King. Missed not riding the S2..........just have to get the bigger bags and fix a few things. Ride safe.........Jack |

Do some searching around here before going to HID. There are some considerations to be made. IIRC, you're best served by inserting a switch to the transformer or you'll have occasions where you start the bike and not have a headlight. I'm not saying don't, but I think you need to be careful and I'm not inclined to go do the searching right now. |

Sounds like this could be a winner. The new road king has much better lights. I would not like to add lights to the S2.......(maybe very small ones).....but better lights would be a +. Keep us informed : ) Ride safe, Jack |

Jack, if you can find the springs and mounting pins from an S3T for the pegs, you can also get new sportster/nightster stock pegs (same general idea, but in black); I think some of the V-rods used them, too. |

Small lights on an S2 look fine, IMO... (mine are PIAAs, I want to say 1100x?)

Jack, if you upgrade the S2 headlight you will not need those lights hanging off the bike. Joe did you drill holes in the bodywork to mount them??? |

RB.............You are right.........they look pretty good. How well do they "light up the road" My Road King "passing" light work pretty good, but at 4 1/2", I can't see them on the S2. Ride safe, JACK |

http://www.autobarn.net/heleurhal20h.html A good headlight replacement that Joe found.. Here is the the discussion on it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/409130.html I am going to try one of these since I ride one of the S2s to work everyday and it is dark when I am on the road... If it does not work as well as I need it to then I guess I will have to get some running lights as well. |

Roger that Jack... I do know what you mean... When I first saw Joes bike at the 25th Homecoming celebration they appeared to work very well... I did not take them time to study them. Our first meeting was waiting in line to head to BMC... Two S2s going home... It was great. |
