I need help bad.... Erik Buell Racing does not have any ECM's for my bike yet, just received an email from them saying they do not have a date yet but the maps are only done for the late model bikes. Well my 04 Xb12R (just got it) has an 04 race ECM on it designed for the race kit as it existed in 04 but the bike has a Jardine on it and it runs badly, all the stereotypical partial throttle, decel, 3k surging you name it. Someone must have created a good map for the 04's with the Jardine Pipe? using ECM Spy? Help?? |

I have the exact same setup that I spent about 15 hours data logging with a wideband in the front and in the back pipes. I do have the swiss cheese airbox cover, not sure if you do? My maps should be REALLY close to what you need. I also tweaked several areas on all the pages of the eprom so you would have to install the entire eprom program for my maps to function properly. Bike is 500 times smoother and stronger. Jeff |

Jeff I am looking seriously at a Drummer because of my frustration with the way the bike runs. I don't have the swiss cheese airbox either. Did this really correct all your issues with the surging, partial throttle, popping, rough decel etc.. |

I've got a map for an 06, XB12Ss, with Jardine, K&N, and a modified air box, not swiss style but much more open. I have the quite tip baffle in the Jardine though. If you want it let me know and I'll figure out how to send it. I have no idea how to post it like Buplaux did. I would be concerned about the baffle thing though. I get surging around 2,800 rpm during warm up, but when warm it's great. Just a bit of decel popping. |

Absolutely stopped all surging completely. No off idle stumble or backfires either. Just save your old eprom data and try this one. If it isnt good just go back to the old. No worries. Let me know how it goes. Jeff |

I like the Jardine. Sounds great, looks great, and runs strong. You just have to get the tune right. Jeff |

I also enjoy the Jardine. My butt dyno tells me the Drummer has a bit more pop but I love the sharper sound of the Jardine. |

Hi there Buplaux, I've just bought a 2004 XB12R with a Jardine (which I'm about to repack), a new K&N filter plus I've just Swiss cheesed the airbox, performed the breather re-route and am now in the process of putting back together. It was reasonably lumpy to ride whenI first got it, but as I'm used to sports Jappers I've no reference point for this kind of motor at all. As I appear to have the stock ECM, is it possible to use ECMSpy to burn this EEPROM to my bike? My goal is to have have basically fixed as many of the issues as possible before I really use the bike much, so I'm putting in a new fuel pump and filter, for example, to make sure it's a decent function unit before I bolt it all back into one piece. I've got no idea how the race ECM differs from the stock one, but I'm betting it's a fair bit richer? |
