I went to get the Red Snap S2 registered & road worthy after sitting for about 3 years. It seems the plastic turning light stalks on my S2 are crumbling and snapping off. Hot glue was a no-go. I read that these are p/n Y0503.8 and Y0504.8 but have been discontinued? It appears that these are the same CEV lights found on Triumph (Speed Triple and Trophy) ~92-96? Sources? Alternatives? Dealership with a stock of these?

We had a couple at HD of Frederick...but I haven't worked there since March so no telling if they're still around. Any tuber or XB signal will bolt right up and work, though...they just look a little different is all. Just don't go LED because the Harley TSM (turn signal module) doesn't like the resistance change and acts all wonky. |

Dave, they are no longer available save the used market. Regular old XB turn signals will work like Ratbuell said.... Frank |

I had one of my turnsignals do the same as yours and was able to repair it using Valco Cincinatti HV350 adhesive. The repair was done a little over a year and 9000 miles ago and still going strong. I also used this product to repair a stone chip in my Hella head light lens |

It looks like your dealer could get Y0503... |

Go with the XB type signals. They are flexable and don't break off when you brush against them. |

Doug, I think the only difference is the wire color and not the actual configuration of the turn signal. I never really pay attention when I am putting them on the bike. When I went down over Monarch Pass I grabbed one from a HD (spit) dealer. They did not have the one I needed (left front) so I got whatever they had and it worked fine and lined up correctly. Frank |

Looking at the two different part numbers (I have some new turn signals) I can see no difference save the mounting stem on one may be a tad longer that on another. That does not make a lot of since to me because the left front and right rear are interchangeable and the right front and left rear are interchangeable. (of course they are all interchangeable with each other from my experience) Since these lights are not running lights I see no big difference. I have no idea why these are two different part numbers. |

Thanks for the interchangeability tips all! Good conversation. Admittedly, it does piss me off that HD isn't supporting Buell parts sourcing and replenishment. I'm pretty confident anyone could go get a turn signal for their '95 Sporty or '95 Ford Mustang. HD ... you suck in my book but what's new? (Not attempting to piss off HD owners) BTW: Even as far back as 2002 you could not get a REAL S2 fender from HD. They were sending out S3 plastic fenders. Thank goodness for the good people at Buell like Bruce Champion and crew! True magicians.... DAve |

The differences I have noted are different stem lenght by about 1/8 inch between front and rear, drain hole having to be down (located where the lens connects to the body) and the rear lights did not have bullet ends on both wires due to the fact the ground wire had a loop end to go on the grounding stud. |

drain hole should be only difference. there should be no difference between front and rear, otherwise you wouldn't have one part for lf/rr; and the other for rf/lr... doug s. |

speaking of all this turn signal talk, if anyone wants to part w/a stock original rf/lr, i'd be interested... doug s. |

Dealership I worked for was at one time also a Triumph shop. These are the same as the 95-98 Daytona, Sprint, Speed Triples. Only difference is that Triumph used a single wire end with a two pin type of connector. Cut it off and splice on the Buell ends and you're good to go. Only problem is from Triumph they were really pricey. We used to get Buell ones and change the other direction. |

I've made a few calls and bought some OEMs from dealers' stock. Took the S2 out a few days to work and back.
It's a pisser that they are obsolete. DAve |
