I am still interested. I'll need to know what the new price tag looks like before I say yes again. ~Hans |

No Sh**! Mine too! I'm working on a solution of my own that will really help (I think) but I applaud my friend's sentiment! -Tutt |

Mxbundy, I am in Mo-Valley with my 1125R and I am in need of a better seat. I definitely agree with all of you, my butt is screaming at me when I go for a long ride. These seats are horrible and after over 8200 miles, it hasn't gotten any better! |

Mxbundy - A couple of layers of this at the base of the seat pan would add considerable value to your work. Heat is a very common complaint around here. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/585555.html?1281284266 THX |

Mxbundy - Are you associated with American Sport Bike or Saddlemen? (Message edited by dannybuell on August 09, 2010) |

Another small American vendor shot down by badweb because they can't pay sponsorship fees. Great...... maybe we can just alienate ourselves completely from the rest of the world. Its amazing how much I can love and hate this forum at the same time. You would think with everything Buell stands for they would embrace the little guy. I keep holding off on a Baldwin because I am curious what comes of this thread. At the same time I don't know if I want to wait till next season for a seat. Sorry Danny don't mean to rant on your thread. I applaud what you are doing. |

Hmm funny, I recall sending them an email letting them know of other ways they can promote and sell their product if they didn't want to sponsor, but instead he comes on here and spews crap. Figures. |

Most companies would give their left arm for cheap advertising that would result in guaranteed sales. |

Maybe he is waiting for the 500th post? I thought it was not meant to be, that the vendors Al was working with were either unresponsive, overpriced, or uninterested? I tried to start scrolling back through the pages of the thread to find it, but frankly there are way too many at this point (read: needle in haystack). |

There have been a variety of excuses along the way. Looks like someone is stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime. :-) |

Saddlemen was a good source, but due to the advertising issue they dropped off the radar and Al was acting as the middle man so a sponsor would be involved. My guess is there just isn't enough money in the deal to make it something worth making it a top priority issue. At this point just take off your seat during the Winter and send it to Saddlemen or Baldwin. |

If anyone was paying attention the price issue went out the door when everyone found out the darn things were Chinese. At one point Saddlemen quoted me $160.00 + $50.00 for the pan or 210.00. I kept quiet so as to not interfere with anyones profit. Saddlemen prices have been hinted at here as being around $250.00. A Corbin starts at $259.00. At $290.00 the gonad channel is worth the extra money. (290-210 * 45 = $3,600). $3,600 for electronically receiving monies, 5 minutes placing an order, and 2 hours slapping labels on a few boxes, plus shipping and handling. Remember $3,600+ because S&H is a hidden profit center that only has to be less than or equal to Corbin's S&H rate. $4,000 w/ S&H for two hours work! |

This is a great Saturday afternoon kids channel movie. With NO disrespect to anyone...(espicially AL, American Sport Bike) It cost me a whappen $90.00 to have my seat modified the way I wanted it by an auto upholsterer...about 10,000 miles ago. While it's not for long distance cruises (the changes were never meant to be for long rides), there is plenty of room now for the family jewels and very comfortable during my daily, roughly hour long commute (each way) to work. If I wanted a long distance seat, it would be a completely different seat. Probably 1.0" or 1-1/2" thicker...which would not suit me well in the daily grind. I don't see the two properly mixing. Not for me anyway. So for about $180.00 (plus a second pan), I'd have two seats for two purposes and would be under the (approx.) mythical $260.00 Not that difficult to work out. Mike |

So are there any updates to this? Are we ever going to get a group buy going or should I just order my own seat from Saddleman? I am willing to wait just want to know that this is still being worked. Thanks |

Danny, I forwarded an email to you yesterday about the current status from Saddlemen. I don't have it here, but feel free to post from it what you see fit. As soon as they have a fitment prototype ready, I'll blast up there and get it fit checked pronto. Al |

Well, it sure took longer than it should have, but the seats are finally done. Came out nice too. This is NOT just a different covering on the chinese seat pan, these are custom made fiberglass seat pans, high tech foam, gel channel, etc. More info and pictures here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/637636.html?1314154188 Al |
