OK, you guys must have noticed how hot the seat gets after about an hours riding time. All that engine heat, and in particular, the rear exhaust headers, get the seat pretty warm. It can get uncomfortable in blue jeans or even in my kevlar riding pants from Cycle Port which has no foam armor over the buttocks.

Anyone developed any solutions for this by chance?

Cowboytutt - American Sport Bike sells an insulation kit.

There is a person(s) who post here as Anonymous. Around here that is generally considered someone at Erik Buell Racing.

An Anon poster said 'Aspen Aerogels' was the best. http://www.aerogel.com/

Google on this site's page (top) for 'Aspen Aerogels' to find that post.

Thanks Danny! My 09 should already have the frame insulation, just need something for under the seat. I have the Erik Buell Racing ECM coming and a Barker exhaust and that will help a little. I want to ceramic coat the headers some day, which will help too.

Meanwhile, this appears to be the "hot ticket" from Aerogel:

Shoob815 bent the back part of his seat upwards, creating a vent in the back of the seat. This seems to help, too.

I noticed one thing so far I had to put back on the stock can and the heat seems much higher when riding the Barker seemed to be letting the heat dissipate quickly and not retaining as long as the stocker stands to reason as well. I can't wait to get my barker back on.

The ebr ECM will help a lot. My 08 is running a lot cooler, around 10 degrees across the board than with the stock ECM.

Beaded seat. Like air conditioning for your butt.
