I have noticed recently a vibration upon deceleration right at the 1800-2000 RPM range.I have recently changes tires and adjusted suspension and added a bit of oil. Other than that no changes, it has an 04 race kit with Jardine Pipe (so the fueling is not great) but has less that 3k miles on it and runs strong. I was suspecting a bad front motor mount or the pipe packing burned out but I was wondering what you guys have experienced....please help. I have a HD Extended Warranty until March 2011. | ||

Sounds like it could the the front isolator. Mine was going bad on my trip to NC. It kept getting worse on the ride home. It was pretty inconsistent, but most notable at lower RPM under deceleration. | ||

Check your primary adjustment.Too loose will cause excess vibes.It still sounds like the isolator. | ||

I have hear of people having cracked motor mounts on their buell xb's on several occasions. Its worth looking at. | ||

Don't think I ever ride with revs that low. All the things you did could affect that. You should probably review those steps again. Not likely tire balance, that's usually a high speed issue but check roundness (unlikely). Check axle clamping. There's a sequence to follow. A problem there might show up at low speeds. Higher speeds will over-ride it. Check your caliper mounts. Mine came loose the other day. I noticed it because of the increased noise from the brake assembly as I was walking the bike. Note that I'm paying more attention to the deceleration than the revs. If it's revs, you can reproduce it. So try that in different gears. If you can, that's engine. If not, it's speed and that's chassis. (Purists: that's just a rough rule.) |
