Since I can't ride it yet (still waiting for the title from HD for my "pre-owned" 09 1125CR as you see here), I figured I might as well do some cosmetic mods, etc... I've tried to design this so that it looks NOTHING like any of Mr. Buell's Pegasus's...(or is that "Pegasi"??) I also wanted to try and mimic the basic shape of the frame in part of the wing. Did I succeed? This is simply a "prototype" die-cut decal. The final version will be thermally printed on a special, thick, clear vinyl that is designed to stick to high-energy plastics and powder-coated metal, etc, as well as conform to curved surfaces. A die-cut decal such as this would not last very long due to the rider's legs rubbing against it! Thanks for the criticism.

Interesting. Would the decal material have a rubberized feel so it could act like Gripster tank pads? That would be sweet! |

Perhaps, instead of vinyl, you might consider the rubbery stuff (name is escaping me at the moment) that others use to grip with their knees . . . |

I like it, but I am a big fan of the head being on the "down stroke" with the chin tucked a little more. Watch some horses running on youtube and pause it when their heads dip down for the next stretch... THAT is the look of power. Just my opinion. |

Thanks for the input, guys. I do not know of any manufacturers that make a "grippy", printable material for the sign industry...but I will look into it for sure. I do know that the material I plan to use WILL be somewhat "grippier" than the stock/bare frame currently is (I just tested it and compared it to the bare frame). Geforce: thanks for the suggestion! I think I will re-work this using your "suggestion of POWER" (not to be confused with the "power of suggestion"). I definitely agree with you on that, now that you've mentioned it. |

My equestrian knowledge is TV and beach rides as a kid. The head down stretch is the look of power to me as well. The vertical nature of the proto makes it look like a chess piece. A little more aerodynamic might be a good way to think about it. How about using the Pegasus body for the big frame side, longer neck and head down on pod. The Pegasus tuck! |

will the adhesive damage the frame coating? if not i'm interested in the rework in black in a 'grippy' finish or just cut out of the gripster material if possible |

I must be alone in thinking it looks tacky then (sorry)and I have a reputation amongst people who know me for doing "tacky" things to my bikes (bullet holes and flames in particular). I doubt whether for copyright purposes it's sufficiently different to the original logo to be legal too. Sorry mate... that's just my opinion and if you like it then more power to you.. |

"will the adhesive damage the frame coating? if not i'm interested in the rework in black in a 'grippy' finish or just cut out of the gripster material if possible" ---------- No, the glue will not damage the painted frame whatsoever. Unfortunately, I can not cut them out of the "grip" material, so that isn't an option I'm afraid... -- "I doubt whether for copyright purposes it's sufficiently different to the original logo to be legal too. " ---- Does anyone else agree with this?? Here is the current Erik Buell Racing logo: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photogallerys/Erik-B uell-Racing-logo.jpg |

Does anyone else agree with this?? It doesn't matter, if you are doing it for your bike, and not trying to sell them. |

Sorry - yes I should have been clearer, Erik's been pretty cool about people making their own designs for logos based on his, someone else on here mailed him to ask and got a reply back saying it was fine as long as it was only for personal use. |
