Well guys, sorry i got your hopes up for a visit. It appears that I won't be making the trip this year to WVA or RV due to lack of Uly. Seems that the availability of certain necessary parts to repair the beast have become unobtainium. Or on backorder with no delivery date in sight. I could trailer the yellow bike, but I want to ride. Gonna save my vacation time for when I get the Uly back. | ||

Tank, Sorry to hear that man! Was looking forward to a ride and a good meal. As far as the Uly I got 3 words of advice for ya. Get a Harley  . I personally think everyone should be required by law to test ride a V Rod before purchasing a new bike. The power this thing puts out has to be felt to be believed. I pulled a Nuts the other day and took it up to mid triple digits for a few seconds and was in awe of how fast I got there. I was hanging on for dear life and about pooed myself but now I can say I've been there and don't have to do it again  . | ||

But Jackie... I actually like to LEAN the bike!  Front tire, front rotor mounting hardware, left footpeg hanger, left grab rail, left sidecase, chin fairing, flyscreen, primary cover(dunno why, not damaged), and misc fasteners n stuff. | ||

Whatcha got laying around for me Nuts? By the way, does Pops still have the 17HMR? I got some good deals running right now on 12 boxes of ammo for it. 90 bucks gets him hooked up for many a squirrel season. Unless you wanna do some trading Tank, This big 240 has less chicken stripes than the Buell did. I'm much more confident on it since my background is pro street type bikes. Charlie, Talk to me here. I am considering getting a Vance and Hines 2 into 1 exhaust and having it ceramic coated cause I ain't diggin' all the bling. I'm familiar with what it looks like on exhausts but how would it look on case covers? I'm looking for that "brushed aluminum" look and can't really think of any coating other than it that would offer that particular effect. Why not help me out here and discuss your plating experiences with me. I want that cool industrial look going on before next year. Marco, Sent you a PM last night but didn't hear back so I went out for several hours this morning since it was cloudy and cooler. Woulda liked to hook up but maybe next time. | ||

Ceramic coating has a particular "thickness" to it. Might be tough to get the case covers to seal back up. Pops had his exhaust done in the high temp silver; one came out much nicer than the other. Might just try the ole scotchbrite pad or a wire wheel on a drill. That'll be real nice! Jackie's head just exploded. NUTS | ||

I think the earth just shifted.  Jaxson has too much BLING! How the hell can that be? Maybe the gals are turning away from the bright reflection of the cruiser bomb. Jaxson, I have very little experience in this dept. If you can find somebody with one is your best bet. Get a pic or some kind of visual to work from. But I totally agree, there's too much chrome stuff on that bad boy, I'm surprised the FAA hasn't come to see you. | ||

On the contrary Charlie. That thing draws a crowd wherever it goes. I just hate all the chrome because its so susceptible to those hairling scratches. On a side note I haven't wiped it down since the middle of May!! I still think the satin electroless nickel may be the winner. | ||

Well I checked into the plating and have come to a conclusion......It's cheaper to add more chrome ! And in other news got me a Blueant Interphone F4 on the way for the helmet. Pretty freakin excited about that one boys!!! What say Nuts? | ||

Well it is possible to talk on the phone if you want to but its a rider to rider intercom as well as a high quality stereo music player. It also sends turn by turn directions from my smartphone through the speakers. The earbuds were eating up my ears and a pain in the hiney everytime I put on or took of my helmet. This solves the problem. Since it seems my plating dreams are out the window I think I must go the alternate route and ad as many chrome doodads as I can possibly find | ||
