Got a new battery, I arced it a bit when I was rerouting black and red for nonharley battery, now it's blowing the fuel pump fuse when I try to start and it shows a fuel pump error. What to do now, I can't even find the fuel pump? Any suggestions would be great cause I'd like to ride before winter: (

What did you arc and how did it happen?

On the 1125's the battery terminals are right next to the subframe, it is really easy to accidentally bump the terminals or cables into it.

I am not sure why it would keep blowing fuses. Fuel pump is in the lower right side of the frame in front of the swingarm.

Was it just an arc positive to ground? Or did you hook up the battery backwards?

i arc the battery cable against the frame,now its blowing fuel pump fuses when i turn the key switch on, everything else works fine and it turns over but wont start,checked relays and their good,confused i am,need all the help i can get

Was the key in the Ignition On position or not when the arc occurred? Just brainstorming trying to relate the fuel pump state when the arc occurred.

If the key was not even in the ignition switch, I don't understand how the fuel pump would be involved. But if that is the case, one would have to analyze the circuits in the Normally-Off state to determine if there might be diodes from the ignition or starter interlock involved.

On the other hand, there might be a separate ignition wiring issue that is blowing the fuse. You mentioned a non-standard Harley battery. How is that different from the battery that is supposed to be in there? Did that battery installation involve moving any wires around? And, if so, what wires were they?
