Dennis, Obviously no one has ever told you what my job is. I test out all bikes that I fix or rebuild in the cemetery. That way if I get too damn frustrated with them, I can just pitch them in a hole and give them a proper burial!!! In all honesty, its the only place I can ride and unlisenced/uninsured vehicle while I work through all the quirks and make sure things are runnig properly. Ben, Damn, Why didn't I think of that. A 1976 XB9 sportster. I have this XB9 motor just sitting around in the garage taking up space!! The bike wouldn't leave this large oil spot on my garage floor everytime it was parked that way either! Mobbers, Thunder in the Heartland hits Kansas City this Sunday afternoon at Union Station, and Liberty Memorial. This is a national rally point for the Harley riders heading to Milwaukee for the 100th anniversary party. The festivities begin at 11:45 AM - 7:30 PM. There will be a ton of activities that afternoon including Bubba Blackwell who has broke all records set by Evel Knievel. Also, the motorcycle display at union station has discounted tickets that day ($6.25 for adults). See you there!!! 12:30 Bubba Blackwell performs stunts 2:30 Bubba Blackwell performs stunts |

Paul, Can't make it to the races on Saturday, but I know (think) that the Mobbers on the way back from the 20th are planning on stopping through there. Give bill or Richie a call. Richie, did those XB parts ever come in for your top end conversion? I am getting close to needing replacements.....and thanks for the support! DaveS, I knew I was running the course slow all day but couldn't find the rhythm....was he on the XB? I still feel like the X1 is a turd running through there. A full second????? damn! I'll mail him the crown.....and stick around a little longer next time to play with y'all. As always I had a great time.....thanks a bunch! I'm still trying to decide how to spend the loot........I figure at this rate I could buy an Xb12 in about 15 years(factoring depreciation....) you guys are great! please thank everyone for me...... Rusty, glad to see you posting here hope to catch up with you as soon as you heal up! If there are any parts you need (like turn signal{again} or the airbox covers, handlebars or anything)let us know, you've stumbled on to a treasure trove of parts WRT the KC bunch, we have a few pack rats..... Neill, are you riding down on Sunday? I talked briefly with frank about it, and got Joe on the phone and figure if we could round eveyone up at about 11:00 am on sunday we could make it down there in plenty of time for the big bad Bubba Show at 12:30........ SO HERE IT IS FOR ANYONE INTERESTED....... I-435 AND METCALF AT THE AMERICAN BANDSTAND AT 11:00 AM ON SUNDAY. Hope we get a good size bunch for this run, Jason G. is driving with his daughter, and Jason K. is driving his wife and two kids......so anyone who wants to ride down.....be there or be pork!

Well I rode the X1W for the first time since I went down Aug 7th. Made a short putt to the gas station and filled up, dang knee is so stiff I could hardly keep my foot on the peg. Went by Worth Gladstone HD dealership to show the shop guys that I was back up and running and made a short run up around 169 and 152 over to Maple Woods and then home. Made me feel much better, I think I can make it to the big party at Union Station without any problems. The knee is limbered up a little better, and my attitude is much better. Let's Party! |

Mobbers... I will not make the Wednesday night thing again. The XB is still in for corrective surgery... I just can't at this point BMW to the BRAG stuff... I love both bikes... but much different mission for each... and my son has his first school open house Wednesday night. So catch ya all later... I may too become an urban legend like that guy... what's his name... rides a XB9R... has a red stubby tailed Buell.... you know... what's his name... that has been unable to show for months.... wait... Wait... WAIT... it's Sam... or something like that! :-) |

I made a public appearance this weekend......the legend lives on! see you all Wednesday, hahahaa I watched a girl loop her motorcycle last night practicing wheelies....no jacket, no boots....guess what, both shoes came off, and she slid about 120' on her stomach before rolling over. rashed her left breast, left arm, both shoulders.....a jacket would have prevented all but the two half dollar sized spots on her knees. I told her the previous evening to wear a jacket the next time she was out playing......some people have to learn to the hard way. Much more difficult to watch when you know it's a delicate young female hurting..... |
