I just need just the center section of a chin fairing for an XB9R. I want black, not the metallic color. thanks. |

What year did the spoiler center come black on? Just curious. In case it helps, I read somewhere it is easy to dye the grey ones black. |

Get some Harley Texture black paint. I panted mine and it lasted for YEARS, and if it does get a chip wipe it down and repaint the texture will blend right in and bye bye chip. I use the paint on all kinds of stuff. |

Yup, my TT came with the black chin, not sure of other models except perhaps the later 08+ City X's? I've had good luck with the Krylon Fusion paint made for plastics. It's supposed to bond better and maintain flexibility to help it stay on, it has held up well on the X1 chin fairing on my Cyclone. Satin or perhaps a medium gloss would be good for that dirt prone area. I think the HD texture black tends to hold dirt due to the rough finish. Sorry I don't have a chin fairing for you unless you want a red and gray one. If your swingarm needs replacing too I've got one of those I was stripping for polish, just as a side project. -Mike |
