I want to clean up my 1125. I have some rejex to put on the plastics, but i need to get some scratches out first. One of the pods has light scratches on it, and the passenger cover has some deep scratches. What should i use to get out the scratches. I tried some mothers plastic polish i had, and it didn't work, I also tried some cleaning wax, and it didn't work. Also, What do you guys use to clean the rims? |

The only thing I clean my bike with is rain water. Other than that, the only time she really gets cleaned is if she goes to the dealer for warranty work. |

Dish soap and water. Lemon Pledge to shine up the plastic and clean bugs off. |

Glazing compound. If you can find an auto paint store they come in different grades of abrassiveness. I used the smoothest grade and it worked great for polishing out the scratches on my CR. -Tutt |

Yep, glazing compound for plastic scratches. I have used S100 for years on all my bikes, works great. |

thanks for the replies, I think I will give the s100 wheel cleaner a try. Any recommendation on what brand or abrasiveness to try on the glazing compound? |

like 99buellx1 said, Novus system (1-3) will clean, shine, and remove scratches on the plastics, and and clean a TON of other items. |

Harley sells the most common and least abrasive form of glazing compound under there own name. Probably any auto parts store will as well, but I'm honestly not sure. You could start with it, and if it doesn't fix it, then move to a more abrassive compound to polish out the deeper scratches and finish with the fine stuff. I was going to do the same but didn't have too as the fine stuff did the job. -Tutt |

I use Meguiar's Gold Class on Loretta. For the dirty wheels, I got a Drummer. Z |

@Drawkward, Don't think you are the only one. I got DOT4 brake fluid on my left side fairing and airbox cover because I squeezed the clutch lever with the reservoir cover off. It really sprays out of there! I just wasn't thinking. Oops. |

Been using this product since 2004 on my Black Sportster and now on my 1125 http://www.captainrichardsbest.com/ Use to be called the Bom cleaner but now its Capt Richards Best - I have never taken a hose to my 1125, and it is Spotless! Clean my rims with another cleaner but everything else is done with The Bom ! My HD dealer carries this. I use it on my bike, Frame, helmet, clear plastics , chrome etc. Mark- |
