Well considering I have a lot of school work to do starting October, the Doctorate is going to beat me to death and cost like a divorce so I have put the 1125R on Ebay. It was a great bike, I had an excellent time on it, and I hope it goes to a good home. I will still lurk a bit here and there as some of you I have met personally and I have found you to be great people. I hope those of you that have some issues with your bikes right now realize that although at times it may be tough to be without your bike, we as a group rode something that was more than just two wheeled transportation. We rode one man's quest to do something that no one else had done, make a quality, competitive, raw and mean American Sportbike. I will miss this bike more than any other I have ever owned. It will be painful to see her go....... |

I feel for you. I hope I never have to face that fate. I can't imagine, walking out to the garage and NOT seeing Loretta. Throw a tarp over her in the garage and forget her for a couple of years instead. Z |

There's lots of 1125's for sale on eBay ... you may have to give it away to get rid of it .... lots of them on Craigslist too ... |

Maybe place a post up on the X bikes board too? Kind of Sh*ty. Why not mothball it? |

I am going to use the proceeds to lower my potential debt from the classes. I would love to mothball the bike and keep her, but it is just not going to be possible if I wish to remain somewhere between $15,000 - $30,000 total incurred for this program. It could easily be triple that if I am not careful with every dollar for the next 3-4 years. So I will just have to suffer through this one and do what needs to be done. She will make someone a great bike, and I am not going to give her away, so if it takes longer then I have to reschedule my budget, but I won't give a great bike away just to have 2/3 of what I would like to get. We shall see how it goes. I was not a member of the Xbikes community for the past five years, so I would feel weird posting up there just to advertise my bike. I think that would be sort of nasty, this post is not to generate interest in my bike, it was to share the pain of what will be a real loss with those that love the bikes like I do. Thanks for the posts ya'll. |

Good luck to you. Remember this site, this bike, this passion. When you finish school, there will hopefully be be a brand new Erik Buell motorcycle available for purchase at a dealer near you! |

Sucks to hear. Been there, done that so I know the feeling. Life always has its ups and downs and I've been into motorcycles for 21 years. Went through periods where I had to put them aside to deal with life's issues but I always came back stronger. I remember hitting some hard times 7 years ago and having to get rid of my beloved Aprilia Mille R, and it just about brought me to tears. Today I'm blessed to have 2 Buells and an MV Agusta sitting next to my Hummer and Porsche. I'm sure you'll come out the other end much better off as well. Now you have something to look forward to and keep your motivations up. Imagine the motorcycle choices you'll have when you finish your doctorate. Best of luck to you! Jeff |
