I quit riding with laces.Tried to put my foot down at a red light years ago and a lace got caught on the foot peg and down I went.Tried to get up but couldn't get my leg out because the lace was still caught! When the guys in the pick up behind me got tired of laughing they came to my rescueAnyway,+1 on putting balls(of feet)on peg and heel against bike.
You look like you have big feet. I wear size 12 boots but only drag my boots when I'm at the track and even then only when I'm on the limit. Here is a video of how I keep my boots off the deck when I'm getting on it in the twisties:
My Cycle Pirates adjustable pegs help also, as I have them at the same height as OEM but back about 1.5 inches. It makes it very comfortable and you can see I'm pretty leaned over but the boots are far from touching.
That could get expensive! If you're grinding pegs regularly then you are near maximum lean angle, which might be a bit risky on changeable road surfaces. You may want to consider starting to hang off the inside of the bike during corners. This will decrease your lean angle while keeping the same speed around corners, maximizing your tire contact patches and giving you just a little bit in reserve for those "unforeseen" moments when a little more lean angle may be necessary.
Fastrichie Posted on Thursday, July 29, 2010 - 10:07 am: I think its cool when my boots are rubbing on the road. My foot pegs usually grind on the road when I ride anyway.
Riding is like sex, even if you're doing it wrong it's still the most fun you'll have all day. Doing it the right way just makes it better. Keep trashing your boots for no good reason other than ignorance man, it's not my cash.
It looks like he might be making up for the lack of stopping power of the rear brake.... Just saying.
Thinks it looks cool with the boots on the ground, boots on the ground.
I was lucky enough to have a friend gift me a used pair Sidi boots and I like them. I have had, like many, the laces of work boots betting caught in on the shifter and the panic that follows is not fun. Keep the work boots at work and let them stare at the strange dude walking into work in future looking space boots. Can you take a picture of your shagged tire on the sidewalls? I always check that when I see a sportbike parked somewhere. Let's me know who found a twisty road and can bend it in there.
i have these boots and LOVE them!!! the first time i wrecked a smacked my ankle at about 30mph against a curb, my ankle left unscathed, but i took a CHUNK outta the curb...needless to say that without these boots my ankle woulda been SHATTERED!! i swear by these boots!!
