Originally all the profits from the 20th anniversary poster were going to be donated to Team Elves for use as they saw fit. I spoke with Court yesterday & told him of our plans to still do that & he was very gracious & thanked us but then also asked that we instead donate it to perhaps a local charity instead. I spoke with CJ last night & we will be donating all proceeds to the Childrens hospital in Milwaukee. They are fantastic people there & will use the money to buy toys & use it in other ways for the kids who end up there. I have done several benefit runs in the past for them & its a great cause. Looks like right now we will have over $800 to donate...thank you everyone who bought a poster. I will be setting up a ride so we can deliver the check to the folks up there & will take pics & have more info when its over so all of you can see where your donations went. Thanks again to all & especially to Court & Team Elves for being so gracious. |

Just my 2 cents, I would of donated it to "Save the Salt fund", but at least it's going somewhere important. -JW:> |

$880? I'm impressed! Any childrens hospital is a very worthy cause. It tears up my heart just walking into one of these places. $800 can go a long way it it's done right. Maybe find out their needs, and find merchants/vendors who will sell for cost or donate. Then deliver the goods directly. Not to confuse things, just a thought. Brad

Thanks to all who ordered a poster and thanks to the sponsors. In case you don't know here are the screen names of people who either sponsored with their own money or arranged to have their dealer sponsor: Daves, Csg_inc, Buckinfubba, Aaron, Pammy, Firemanjim, Scooter (on ATC, I'm not sure if he posts on BadWeb). I would also like to explain what the various people did who got their names listed on the "Special thanks to:" line because I'm sure not everybody knows. John Koehler - That's me! I used PaintShop Pro and took high-res images of the bikes and logos and combined them into one image. Then I took that image and used Quark Xpress to add text. Then it was off to the printer! Chris McKay (cjmblast) - Chris did a couple of important jobs. She handled all of the financial end of it. Contacting sponsors, arrannging payment, depositing and keeping track of checks, etc. She also handled all of the shipping and handling duties. Dave Stueve (Daves) - Dave contacted HD marketing and got me a CD full of high-resolution images of Buells. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how I was going to get my hands on professional, stock digital photography. HD wouldn't give them to me because I'm just a peon! Dave Gess (davegess) - Dave supplied me with the two oldest Buells at the top of the poster. I had to have that RW750! Again, it's harder than it sounds to get a hold of. I can't just grab something off of the web. Aaron Wilson (Aaron) - Aaron supplied the image of the Team Elves record holder. I'm not sure if you remember but the image of the Team Elves bike on the bottom is not the one that was originally there. We had to have the current 202.988 mph record holder! Nobody seemed to have a high-res image of it on hand. But Aaron came through and emailed it to me! Buell enthusiasts - That's you! From what I've been reading even Dyna is a Buell enthusiast! He has the color picked out. He's just trying to decide between the 12R or 12S. I'm glad that the money is going to a good cause. I enjoyed working on the poster and working with the sponsors and Chris. I also enjoyed getting a chance to meet some of the people who were involved. It really was a team effort. The whole Buell 20th event was awesome! |

Newfie, There is one in Ottawa and a pair of Hooters in Toronto. You can go that far west can't you? Besides, you don't have to be on bike to visit a Hooters! Make it home safe. No more burnouts! |

M2me, great post !! Buell 20th was Awesome !! I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you, and hope Everyone makes it home safely !! I also want to personally thank each and every sponsor, and every single person who bought a poster, and m2me for creating the poster and being great to work with, and for everyone who sent in a check with the personal notes attached they were All appreciated, and Dyna, Dana, Dennis, for their help and support, and Brew City BRAG for their help with the money going through their account and patience with me, and Spidey for being the one responsible for the creation of the entire Buell 20th with his idea of the ride and presentation of card to Erik Buell which was the highlight of the whole celebration, and every Buell rider who showed up for the event, and anyone I may have missed !!! As far as the money left over, I would have loved to see it go to Team Elves myself, however as long as it goes to a good cause and everyone is happy, I'm happy !! I turned over that responsibility to Dyna who did discuss the donation to Team Elves with Court. Looking forward to the next Buell gathering !! CJM |

M2me and company, Thanks first rate job, first rate sincerity and honesty on the money handling, with honorable mention to Mr Canfield. (My kid is autistic and has seizures, I end up in children's hospitals much more than I'd like to. They can always use the help). Can you guys design the next rockerbox gasket/cover ? |

Matt: Right you are! The poster was fantastic, the organization was fantastic and kudos to Dana, Chris, Tony and all those who worked so hard to make it happen. There is, I assure you, a huge chasm between SAYING you want to do something and actually delivering. The entire group done themselves proud. I'd suggest that the funds be presented in the name of BUELL MOTORCYCLES COMPANY & ENTHUSIASTIC OWNERS. I have two incredibly healthy mutant offspring, once wrote childrens books and never fail to keep those who do visit the hospitals more than I've had to, in my prayers. You guys can pat yourselves on the back for one of the truly CLASSIC (When John Mikosh shows, it's automatically CLASSIC) Buell events. Thank you for everything, Court |
