With the voltage regulator taking a dump on me.... I have been riding the TT a lot more. Well, I got back on the Uly and used it this weekend to go to my MSF class.
The front end feels very "stiff" compared to the TT and it just doesn't have the toss me into the corner feel that the TT has.
I agree - the TT is much more "tossable" than the Uly. If all I did was around town techincal trail-type stuff...it'd be a TT all the way.
The Uly, though, is much better suited for longer trips IMO. The seat, the peg difference, and of course the luggage.
The TT is Buell's VRSCR - a totally awesome, home-run motorcycle...that got completely missed by Marketing and never really got the attention it deserved.
I would be interested in Getting a pair of the "Number Plates" off of a TT. Have an Idea i want to try. Any Interest from the Lupine One, Or any Other TT Owners Out there? Thanks, b.
I looked for the subframe parts for a while but by the time I bought all the parts Id need I was better off buying another bike. I haven't had the uly long but I've been riding it much more than the TT. It's just way more comfortable even on my 25 mile ride to work.
You guys that are saying the Uly is way more comfortable than the TT, is that mainly based on the difference in seats/pegs, or on the Uly's softer, longer travel suspension?
I have a touring seat on my TT so the seat isn't really more comfortable, unless you have a pillion, then it's way better. The more upright ergos with the lower pegs, plus a little more wind protection is what makes it better. The suspension on the uly is definitely valved softer, riding two up it feels too soft in the curves to me. Id like to put a stiffer shock spring on it, forks are fine. There's only an inch more suspension so on the road it's rarely used, but off road it feels a little better with the plusher valving.
BTW- if anyone's still in the market for one, the bike locator at buell.com still shows two 2007 TT's in stock at former Badweb sponsor Tilley HD/Buell in Statesville, NC.
Oh yea, we're down to only 177 new Buells left nation wide, although that number probably is high based on what some have posted here regarding the accuracy of the locator numbers.
the TT was a great motorcycle that Harley-Davidson totally screwed-up with their marketing program.
I was at homecoming several years back when Erik was talking about the TT telling how well it performed and comparing it to other sport motorcycles and then he just shook his head while saying that Harley's took the bike to market with the paint graffiti theme. You could see that he was pissed about that concept and I can't blame him either because I loved the TT!
Buell TT marketing strategy, another Harley-Davidson epic "FAIL"!!!
