I was delighted when H-D ended the experiment with chain secondary drive. |

I must say I don't miss the white wheels I had on my 900RR and the constant attention they took to keep chain lube off of them. I even used chain wax, but they still got grimy. Even the gray wheels on my 900SS were a pain. (Now that I've said all that, I'll snap a belt next time I'm 400 miles from home...) |

Roc, All that XB?R (I'm assuming it's a 9, because there aren't many 12's around) needs to be my idea of the perfect XB is highly polished frame, swingarm and wheels. Love the carbon fiber bodywork! 1313 |

I can help you with that.. Just remember, that when I shrink 'em.. (it's the software) you will also loose some definition. So, if you send hi-def, then they will look better when done.. although I'm sure some of the other folks here can do a better job of it, if you want, drop a few my way and I'll be happy to shrink and return 'em.. Ref. - The Candy Apple Red XB: How do you paint our Surlyn plastic and keep the paint stuck? Mike

Probably the same way they paint facias (bumper covers) and such for cars.. there is a catalyst that 'opens the pores' so to speak. Once it's treated, you have a limited amount of time to paint it before the plastic goes back to being a 'shell' and wont allow for bonding. Speaking of bonding, there are bonding agents used for touch up that could also be used to paint over plastic, Just remember, you will always have the base color under there, so you'll have to lay prime, base etc. over it all before you do your 'trick' paint.. Not a body man, but have a buddy that is.. so this is 'second hand' knowledge. Later, edited by blublak on August 19, 2003 |

Mikep: They make an etching primer in clear or pigment that is used to prep those type of surfaces. That's how my X-3 windscreens have been painted. Although it is nasty smelling stuff. Later Neil S. |

I already had the replacement waiting at home. You should see the Smiley face I made in front of my house! Burning-out my girlfriend's name under it turned out pretty well, too. |
