Had a low side a few weeks ago, so i started my winter project early, its not finished, but soon will be rideable again, the winter will see the wheels and frame being painted. But for now let me know what you guys think, i have done loads of small mods along the way but will do a full write up once it's finished. Just waiting on R/H pod panel, rear sub-frame and a wing mirror. From this - To this - And now were talking -

Looks Awesome! I noticed you had an HMF exhaust in the first picture. I've been looking at one, and the Erik Buell Racing ECM to go with it. Would you recomend it? |

Didn't like the HMF with stock ECM, that is a modified standard exhaust which i preferred on the standard ECM, haven't ridden the bike with the Erik Buell Racing ECM yet, will also be getting the bike dyno'd in the next couple of months. |

It's vinyl, the stuff i used wasn't cheap, but i'm so glad i spent the money on quality gear, it's genuine 3M vinyl, relatively easy to work with, just take a look at this video, it's what sold it to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z3mb85nxdY |

Kozy, it came off a Laverda, i bought it from ebay and made it fit, need to mod it for the standard exhaust, was able to do oil changes without removing the chin spoiler too |

That carbon fiber stuff looks pretty cool. I can't say I'm in the market for something like that, but if I was, I'd be all over it. |

Yes it's definatly love it or hate it. It comes in a variety of colours/shades. My panels were very badly damaged and weighed up the cost of new ones but thought i'd give this ago. I rubbed down the panels as if i was going to paint them, 99% of the damaged was removed but lost the shine obviously, £120 for the vinyl and a bit of effort turned out rather well. Also the swingarm is the crashed item, it was badly damaged and had some deep scratches in it, local buffing firm removed all traces of damage, and gave it a nice shine for me haha £190 plus £20 glass bead blasting. The frame was dented and scratched, a bit of filler later and a layer of vinyl you would never know. |

I vinyl wrapped part of my XB, it didn't come out anywhere near that nice because I totally suck at it. |

you need to give us some pics of the whole bike to give us an overall effect of the carbon look and polished swingarm. The swingarm looks pretty bling-y, but lets see the whole bike! |

It looks great! I think I'm going to try it myself. How many sq feet of material did you use? What sizes did you order. |

Fresnobuell - No, will have to wait until it's done, but these pics do not do it justice, i love it, and with the tail on it looks so, so, so sweet jasbiz66 - I think with the conversion rate at about 1.42 it works out at $154.92 but i doubt you can get it done for that in the states anywhere ? Looks very nice. The polished swinger wowed me! Like the carbon look, but I am into the real deal. I just wish it wasn't so pricy. |

I would be scared to ride the bike if it was covered in real carbon, a slight crash would be even more expensive, these bikes are not cheap to get parts for |

Do you think there will be any problem with the film on the frame? Just because of some of the temps reached on a hot day with little fuel and hard riding, I could see that melting? Maybe not? |

hi, looks really nice, i would like to do it on my own with the white carbon vinyl. Is it heavy to create curves and that stuff (espacially the front fairing?).. So will it hold on edges/heels? - Do you foil at the inside of the front fairing? What stuff you use, to get on the foil? A special spray or something like that? Thanks! |

Xbud, i'm not sure how well it will work on the frame ? It is only temporary as the frame and wheels are being painted this winter, i did ask the supplier this very question, he mentioned that it has been fitted to many car bonnets(hoods for all you yanks) and hasn't ever seen any problems. _gdkp_ - The front fairing required a join as did the air box cover, i used black pinstriping to cover these joins, once it's finished ill take some quality hi-res pictures. Spoke with my dealer today, the pod panel is on back order until 17-8-10........ FFS |

I saw the demo at the SEMA show in Vegas. Looks easy enough to apply. I asked them if it could be buffed in order to bring out a more glossy finish and they said no. I haven't crossed over yet to matt finish carbon look although its beginning to appear in production superbikes. My Leo Vince carbon exhaust cover is matt finish. Its the real deal so I buffed it to a semi gloss finish so it would match other cf bits on my 999R. |
