I have some old Duc stock pipes. I have more time than money. Is it worth the hassle of cutting them down to fit, finding a mid pipe that fits, then hearing how it sounds when done. I think I just talked myself out of it. I always like to try to build it before buy it. It might look funky but it is my funky. |

Sounds interesting to me. There are enough guys on this site that make or have made their own pipes. I would be interested to do it it I have a welder and pipe bender. Give it a go and let us know how it turns out. |

You can usually get a HMF mid-pipe for about 148 delivered(had to order one this past winter after I bottomed out get the bike in my truck). That should provide a good angle to fit the Ducati exhaust or cut it back if you are going for the dual approach. All-in-All what you do is up to you. Personally, I would go for it IF I had the time. |

A local muffler shop could manufacture a rough midpipe pretty cheap I would think. Just toying with the idea and it won't cost much if it fails. |

I want to say dean http://keda-design.com/ offered just the midpipe at one time, don't see them on his site anymore though and I don't recall the price. Might be worth contacting him, his work and customer service are outstanding. Let me know if you want to check out the RT-3 on my bike, I live close enough to you, just need to get my current electrical issues sorted out. |

Rombi, Had a similar idea... I managed to get a pair of HMF Busa cans on fleabay on the cheap. Was originally going to use just one and hock the other one back. But after seeing Dean's RT-4 I may just see if I can stuff both of them under the bike. Will be a little different as these are longer cans that what Dean is using so they probably have to lay flat under the engine instead of being angled up. Got the merge collector, and stainless pipe from cone engineering. |

Take another look at the RT-4 it has an X pipe. If you can build an X pipe and stuff two duc cans down in there, you will likely be shortening the cans. |

I was thinking of doing the same thing except I would position the cans in the traditional location up next to the rear wheel. I know it will move the center of mass up but who cares on the street. I bet most of us wouldn't notice it on the track either. |

Construct it and send it to easyrider. I've been thinking a dual outlet rear like a r1 might show gains. But weight might be a disadvantage? Try it |
