I am having a random miss. A little while ago my bike started miss firing. When i pulled the plugs they were fouled so i replaced them. After doing so it seemed to run ok for a short amount of time. I checked the plugs again and they were ok. I let it sit for a couple of days and hoping that it would work started it up and went for a ride. The bike ran fine. After about 2 weeks i was coming back home from work and the miss started again. Starting from a dead stop required slipping the clutch quite a bit. Once it got moving it seemed to be ok and still had fairly good throttle response. I pulled off the freeway one time to stop at my buddies. the bike died right in the middle of the lane at the intersection. at this point i decided i should just get the bike home. got back on the freeway and 20 miles down the road the bike is running just fine again. after riding about 5 it started missing again. anyone have any suggestions? |

I would pull the carb. and check for trash under the needle and seat. But clean everything while your there. Wouldn't hurt to dump your tank into a bucket and see if there's trash or water etc, Also check your plug wires especially at the coil(burnt marks) Good luck |

Not sure what plugs you're running but I've had problems with HD (Champion) plugs over the years, even new out of the box. I put NGK DCPR7EIX (Iridium) in my tubers and they've given me no problems. |

Currently I'm running the stock plug heat range. I've already ohmed out the coil and the plug wires. Is there any chance that it could be the timing sensor on the cam?? because that would be a pain in the rear. |

Just a thought but coils and some other things can test good cold but test bad when hot with the expansion factor. |
