Hi, I was riding with a buddy a couple of days ago, and noticed something weird with the fan on my Uly: After stopping, I turned the bike off and removed the key, and as usual the fan went on for a couple of minutes until turning itself off. But this time, maybe ten minutes after the fan shut itself off, it started again, and just kept going, until I went back to the bike, started the engine and turned it back off. The same thing happened when I got back home. Both times, the bike was standing in sunlight, but it wasn't extremely hot weather, so I don't really think it would be the sun fooling a sensor or something like that. Does anybody here recognize this particular problem and know how to deal with it? |

You can check the settings using one of the ECM programs to determine the key off fan off value is still correct. Do you have access to ECMSpy? |

No, I don't yet - that is: I have the software, but I haven't gotten around to making or purchasing a cable for it yet. That might, as you imply, be a good idea... |

It could be that or your temp sensor is going bad, but if it were the temp sensor it would likely throw a trouble code 14. Do you have a service manual? |

Yep, I've read up on the temp sensor and how it works. I'll try to get my hands on an ECMSpy cable too - I'll be needing it anyway. Today, however, the problem didn't occur. I'll follow up on this; thanks for the tips! |
