Actually, www.ram-mount.com Nice thing is, you can buy the device specific part for about $10, and make your own mount for it! |

+1 to the ram mount, but I see that it is a hiking GPS, not a street one so you will find that it is less than ideal for motorcycle usage. |

it is for off-road riding. My understanding was that the Garmin 60cs was the standard and that the Dakota 20 is the newer model. WHich ram mount thought there are tons?? This one seems to be the one that could fit the Uly: RAM-B-149ZU |

WHat about mounting it on the Handguard risers.
with one of these: http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045066045049056049085/Default.aspx http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045066045049056048085/Default.aspx http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045066045049055057085/Default.aspx The first one looks promising if the screws fit. |

actually looking at this picture, i think i may be making this more complicated than it is.... Thiere seems to be an ideal little space on my handlebars to mount this mount: http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetail s/tabid/63/partid/08206507704506604504905205709008 5/Default.aspx |

That one works and so does the one that mounts on top off the master cyl. I use both, one for my VistaC and one for the Nuvi 205. |

nothing hard about mounting to the Uly. Use a rail base with ball and mount it to the handle bar. |

I see that it is a hiking GPS, not a street one so you will find that it is less than ideal for motorcycle usage Disagree. The hiking models retain all the complex features and customizability that are so useful to us bikers. It's the Nuvi's and (to a lesser extent) Zumo's that are dumbed-down! Back on topic- if it was me, I'd use one of these: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=11411# ...centered on the handlebar clamp with the zip-ties going around the clamp and bar. The main advantage is that it doesn't "wave" at you like another mirror (a la RAM mounts). There's also just enough room inboard of the clutch clamp if you want to type while riding. Edit: also this... http://www.mountguys.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RAP-274-GA36&click=21 (Message edited by nadz on July 14, 2010) |

Well here's what I did: bought the GPS specific piece for $10, bent up a piece of scrap aluminum I had laying around (free) , and sprayed it with some black spray paint. I used the mirror mounting bolt to bolt it down. Works great and cost me a whopping $10. I have 1126CR mirrors, so your couldn't do it exactly like mine, but the stock Uly mirrors have a little spacer under them, about the thickness of the aluminum used for the mount. Remove that, bolt mirror through your bracket, and you're in business! ....of course if you're more into spending $$ than making something unique, then by a full Ram Mount!

it's just a TomTom 340XL. Got it for $100 refurbed for the car...so I thought why not have a mount on the bike?! There are definite benefits to the motorcycle ones, and the there's the vibration issue, yada yada... It's worked great so far, and if it fails ihave a 4 year warranty for squaretrade that only cost $10! |

I'm with Nadz on this one. A Ram-Mount for a Garmin Dakota will look kind of, well.... I have a 60CSx on my bike and use one of these: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=124&pID=65 2 You have to put a thicker rubber spacer in there (I used an old golf club grip) but this mount works perfectly and looks good, and it's cheep! Another key point is how fast you can take the GPS off the bike when you go into a shop or something. With the Garmin handlebar mount your GPS comes off with a click. Edit: Nadz has the right one linked for your GPS. I gues they don't make the clamp on type for the Dakota. (Message edited by bosh on July 14, 2010) |

Here's a pic of the Ram mounts.
I've got them plugged in inside the tank bag other wise they tend to come unplugged from the dash outlet from the vibes.
Really they hardly jiggle and are easy to read and use. |
