Hi all. Been reading a lot about the Erik Buell Racing ECM with aftermarket slipons. Is it worth having one for stock pipe, filter and pump gas ? If I later decide to add an aftermarket slip on will I need to purchase another ECM to suit ? |

(1) Yes (2) No - not "essential" but if you pick a pipe they have a specific tune for you can send the ECM back to be re-mapped for a nominal fee |

The pump gas Erik Buell Racing ECM for my stock '09 CR made it a whole new bike. For me, absolutely worth every penny. |

Send an email to Erik Buell Racing. Ask them. Tell them: a) what you have b) what you plan to do to it c) what characteristics you'd like to see changed (i.e. engine braking) You'll get a very good answer. |

Twin, it made it so much more fluid, smoother at any RPM. Runs ten+ degrees cooler (BTW, have not had any gas boil since the switch). Even sounds better. Manageable and fun to ride anywhere IMO. I'll think about a pipe after the shootout results come in but for now I am very happy with the stock package. |

Lots of info here about how the E B R version works on a stock bike. I've probably done a recap a time or two myself ... Is it worth the $250? OH YEAH! I liked my stocked ('09R, #142) but after having the new one couldn't imagine going back to OEM. Mike |

I put a couple hundred miles with the Race ECM and everything else stock. It made a definite difference in smoothness and heat. The bike runs much closer to how it should/would run if the EPA weren't involved. Recommended. |

Just fitted ebr ecm to my 09 1125r euro model with standard exhaust,(they can set up for euro catalyst) The bike is much nicer to ride.I informed I do not mind less engine braking. It has less engine brake and it is much better for me as it is far smoother as you blip and change down.I can ride the local scratchers roundabouts in 2nd or 3rd now instead of only in second. Big thanks to the boys at ebr. |

Spoke to Erik Buell Racing and they have said that they cannot map for a bike with a catalytic convertor |

That is a bit weird, they sent me an email saying they were going to have one in a few weeks, then they sent me an email saying they have a calibration to suit a cat exhaust about 3 weeks later, then they sold me one about 2 weeks ago and it is fitted now. |

With the ecm by Erik Buell Racing, the twisties has become easier, low rpms now as reliably smooth as the upper body. My gas mileage is 5mpg better - my hotrodded Blast now only beating it by 9mpg - lol So far so good on the coolness, and the bike really does feel a lot smoother and more manageable. It is a new bike all over again. EZ |

Have checked with Erik Buell Racing and they confirm they do have a cal for stock exhaust with or without catalyst. 3vil twin,if you want one ask again someone may have not known it is available now. |

New bike with Race ECM and stock pipes. Smooth acceleration = more predictable throttle response = easier to ride the twisties = faster. |
