I have an 03 XB9 which I bought from a friend... it is a track bike, and I was assured the tranny had a slight problem, that should be an easy fix... The entire tranny is essentially junk. Now I need to fix it. Can I use a gearset from an 06 XB12? will it fit? "the transmission of all 2006 Buells has received a total revamp. An internal change to a "dog-ring" design results in less required effort while new helical gears are quieter than the old straight-cut cogs." (magazine article) I can buy a set on ebay for $150. |

The engine cases are different, so no they won't just drop in without doing some modification. |

But modification is possible? Where could I find out how to do this? My mechanic has mad machine skills... |
