I got rained on extra hard tonight. I had to slow down to 30 and put my visor up to see. I fueled up after it passed and as I flipped open that little lid, I saw a big drop of water land on the keyhole and then drain right through it. I wonder now if that bad gas I got in November was bad when I put it in. Anyone else have a similar lid? I don't remember my ricer lids as being that way.

Buell's solution to this problems is to have the gas BOIL off any H2O and it will evaporate out of the system.

many xb's have been left out and/or ridden in the rain. ever been to a march badness?
i can attest to personally never experiencing any issues with tainted gasoline due to rain. ether cuz any/enough of the rain water doesn't get in, or it is boiled out.

lube your key slot with some graphite/WD-40 and keep riding

I accidentally dumped a good cup of water in with a fillup on my Blast(long story), it hasn't exploded yet.

i always make sure to store those pesky watering cans far away from any vehicle or gas can for this very reason.

Picturing a Buell still with helicon furnace, mash in the frame, airbox/thump keg and the pods as worm boxes.
