Just took off the rear wheel, and the inner space sleeve is loose inside. I haven't replaced the bearing yet, next onlist, but do I need a new sleeve or is it supposed be loose inside? also, no part number listed in my parts cataolg, only listed as part of the assembl, so does anyone have an idea where to get one? |

Hmmm, might explain your rear bearing failures. Try one of our sponsors nearest you. Liberty HD for instance? |

I've seen that alot on H-D/Buell wheels. Shouldn't be anything to worry about since they're sealed bearing with no pre-load to set (like tapered roller bearings in older H-D's that use shims) Frank |

al at asb blames most wheel bearing failures on those spacers being squished by overtightening the axle. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17320.html |

just found the spacer, liberty HD stated that the spacer should not be loose wit bearings installed. the part number for the spacer is not listed in the 1999 parts catalog, so here it is. G0311.C |

Fuzzy, I think that's an xb issue, not the same procedure for tightening as for tuber wheels, but James' prognosis from Liberty HD sounds right. |
