Hey , see ya tomorrow at the SWISS? We can make fun of that Frenchy RayRay, or Brandon's hair-cut, or the possibilities are nearly endless. Found the problem with Betty. She had not been done a solid by 'The Motor Company' during her assymbly. I found the 2 nuts that hold the shift mech. not even finger-tight. Like 10 flats out! Lucky they are the nyloc's, so they couldn't back out any farther. So when my new primary chain gets here wed., I should be riding that night. So I is just waiting for BordeRaid! sooner, Galen |

Hi, I'm new to the Buell group so please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man with no wealth or fame, but with a Buell to ride and time on my side, I'm looking for roads upon which to glide to remote pubs where I can have a brew, a meal and a perhaps gather a story or two from some of you. I would appreciate more information about the Aug 16/17 gathering in Tigard and what is the BorderRaid? Motorcycle racing in Muck-min-ville? David

David, welcome. Aug 16/17 at Destination Buell/Harley. ThunderCross. Try it, you'll like it. Ride Sunday. Come to the Brag meeting Tues nite at Silver Dollar Pizza 7PM, Hall and Denny. We'll fill you in on Border Raid at any of the above gettogethers.

Hey, I'm back, and glad of it too! Europe is a cool place to be. Lots of really neat things to do and see. That said, I'm glad to be home and I'm looking forward to seeing my friends at The Swiss next time. I had my bike tuned, the valves adjusted, Califonia emission stuff removed, and Dyno'd while I was gone and it runs very well, thank you. And I can prove it: A little bit of a flat spot at 6,000 rpm but you can't feel it from the saddle. One hundred and eleven horse power, over 67 pound feet of torque and 47 MPG. One of these days I might get it super tuned on the Dyno but I probably won't, I mean, how much better does it really get? edited by ray_maines on August 12, 2003 |

I got the stinking primary chain today, so I am home wrenching instead of drinking at the SWISS! Priorities are in order, but it was close! Come by... sooner, GALEN |

Turbo bike runs very well. New fuel pump, pressure regulator - a bit of diagnostic error there, and a new ignition module. I also had a friend re-weld the intercooler and I adjusted the boost down to 7 PSI. I bummed and dealing with not being able to race this year though. Had job, lost job, started company, had big set backs - now not much money or time. I'm trying to find a way to come watch and help out some but chance seems to be working against me. If I'm able to be there I will probably ride down, so no tools, but I'd be more than happy to help in your efforts. |

FMJ - you are a bad man who puts expensive thoughts in my head. Last time this happened I blew money earmarked for a "good", reliable car on a turbo Buell. Let me look at what I can sell. |

OK....so, Galen you're so positively and profusely correct in that the BOB –Universes gravitational- get-a-bike pull is so extremely strong that after tonight’s dinner convo at the frequented Neighbor’s Late Night on-the-deck Dinner Table, I’m thinking I just might get a NEW SV650 and just thrash the heck out of it for several years. Make it the bike I’ll never part with, get all my moneys worth out of it, have the warranty, know it’s going to run, etc etc. OK, so do I sound like a talking ‘Bob’bble head? Ha ha. So….now the hard part….. which color should I get?? Hhhmmmm…. I wonder what the 2004 models have in store. Man, life can be so tough sometimes, what to do – what to do... Hi Lo! Yeah....I’m trying to get a bike here…..soon.. soon I hope. Border Raid is out for me this year, I’m sure, but I’ll get some practice in and gear up for future escapades…it shant be long…. (fingers crossed). Until next time, Kikola
