This week, I took a trip to Minneapolis which is about 6 hours from here. Gives you a lot of time to ruminate. I noticed that the odometer wasn't keeping pace with the mile markers. To the tune of about .3 higher every 5 miles. Now, I know that speedometer accuracy is pretty much a wink and a grin, but the odometer? Affects everything from service intervals to mileage to resale value. Stock tires, so I'm sure that circumference issues aren't the cause (or shouldn't be). And I can see if I was switching lanes a lot it may vary a little depending on the mile. From the Dells to Hudson is a drone and it was pretty consistent both ways. Anyone else noticed this? Or any thoughts? |
