wanted to try something new again so i painted my spare tank plastic black and put on the black xb wind screen and fender i had. i really liked the red but didn't have a red screen right now. may pick up an extra and paint it to match the red tank. mounted the xb lights and screen was pretty easy after i decided on a mounting system. i think it looks much more modern than the single light. anyway, pics! before:

I also made a new handlebar to replace the crossroads i had before. i reused the bars, just made a new plate out of 6061 aluminum and covered it in 4 layers of carbon fiber for stiffness and vibration reduction. came out pretty cool and is much stiffer than the other base plate.

thanks. i just noticed on the handlebar pic the line in the middle. that is from the clear 3m film i put on the middle to keep the key fob from rubbing off the clear. the carbon is perfect nate |

Personally, I'm more Old School so I prefer the original look but I gotta say the new look is real nice too. |

Love the bars and the black but I really like the original headlight w/out the flyscreen better than the XB lights. I like the chopped fender too. |

surprised you noticed the fender! nice catch. i do like the bare look of no front wind screen but the single round light is so common and outdated looking. even thinking of going with the cr lights up front. nate |

CR lights would be cool. I'm about to start a new look for my S2 as well, as soon as I can gather the parts for it. |

Looks good...the black tank sure does change the look of the bike... Hard to say which one i prefer H'mm single or twin??????? twin lights kinda remind me of the front of a Moto morini corsaro

Great looking bike in either colour! I really like the XB wheels on the tubers. I wish that some enterprising machinist would offer the needed parts for the conversion. Hint, hint! Is there any way to fabricate a rear wheel hugger for the XB wheel on a tuber? I like the look and it also keeps significant water and road grunge away from the battery, etc. (Message edited by outdoors on July 03, 2010) |

Nate, I think you did a great job! I can respect people who think outside of the box and customize their bikes to fit ones personality. Isn't thats why we ride Buells? We don't want to be like every Tom, Dick & Harry who's either on a Harley or a Rice burner. I won't say that we are a special breed, buy we ARE definitely different! |

I do have a mini rear hugger on there. I cut down the factory one and added a mounting point on the swingarm. There are some pics on the forum somewhere of it. nate |
