Hey guys, I picked up a forcewinder for my 99 M2. Not totally sure how I want to run the breather set up. Looking for pics/advice on set ups other have done. Thank you, Frank R. |

I got a pair of breather bolts ($20 new from Drag Specialties, or $4 from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370398945301&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AVRI and re-used some 3/8" rubber hose to connect them to a plastic 'T', then run hose to a catch can, vented via a itty bitty K&N type filter. Thanks Jayvee. The Forcewinder came with a little K&N and some hose, but no instructions. Does anyone have any pics? As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words! |

If you look at my profile pic close enough you can see i ran a 3/8 hose off each breather and then into a brass T fitting and then ran it into a catch can. You can see the bottom of my catch can at the base of my tail section. |

OK I can't add a picture to my earlier post, so here it is:
It's not particularly tidy, I'm re-doing the catch can arrangement, and may change this setup. But for $4 off ebay, and recycled hose, this has to be a frugal way to go. |

Ummm...I would say No to this routing. Here's mine before I did the XB Rocker Conversion: The reason I say No is that this is a Gravity Feed system. Everything needs to go Down. As soon as you have something going Up, you will have pooling, or a P-Trap effect, like under your sink. As Oil / Spooge gets blown out into the hoses it's going to sit there, and build up until it flows back into the engine when you shut it off. You need to go Down... |

You are right MadAnthony, looks more sensible. However, I couldn't abide the looks of it. So, had to go against nature (gravity.) The T junction visible is the high point on mine, if smoosh makes it to there, its all downhill to the catch tank on the other side. Seems like the breathing pulses push it up just high enough, because I caught a couple tablespoons of splooge in the catch tank over the years. So it seems to work well enough, even though its probably not the optimum. You must agree, surely, that Yellow IS the fastest color. |

Defying Nature is what Buell's are all about, Right? It looks Very Tidy the way you have it. And if you're not getting "Backed Up" maybe there is enough air movement to get it "Up & Over". But between the Looks, and the hose splitting on the Rear Nipple every 100 miles, (If you look close it's split in my picture...) I bit the bullet and threw on the XB RockerBoxes. Yes, Yellow is the Fastest Color! (It's actually Green in a Red Shift!) |

I think the breather mounting depends how much blowby your engine has. On my S1 I have the vents connected to a T with a small filter just below the carb, and I don't have any oily mess, on my S3 there is no way I could have gotten away with this. I am not sure if it can be seen in my profile pic. Dean |
