I have the 1" drop black Sidetrax II pegs from Knight Design and they are EXCELLENT. I'm 6'3" and have a 33" inseam and they are just what I needed to relive the pressure from my knees and hips.
Check out the Cycle Pirates adjustable footpegs. I originally had these on my XB9SX, but since they also interchange with the 1125R I put them on the newer baby:
They come in 3 pieces that allow for placement in approximately a 2.5" circle around the OEM pivot point, and they do still pivot. I like the grippy round peg and ended up placing them at stock height but about 1.5" back. Got them off eBay for something like $120 for the pair.
I put on Lightning pegs, I went that way because they match the pass pegs and are still sporty, and give a solid inch lower & a little back on the drop (oh and cheap). Very comfy, almost too comfy for a sport bike, amazing the difference an inch makes (that's what she said). I'm 6'3" 200lbs.
I did have to play with them with a dremmel for about 10 mins, one side goes on pretty much untouched, the other requires a little grinding so you get the smooth flip up action in case they touch.
I will say the brake pedal adjustment is maxed on mine & is OK with the lower pegs at 1 inch, I don't think I could get my brake pedal to where I would want it if I went with a 2" drop ... but I don't see others with the 2" drop complaining so it may be OK for others.
I ordered the cycle pirate ones last night, 85 bucks from their website including shipping. I would have went with another option from one of the vendors here but I liked the fact I can choose the placement of the peg(down/back)with these.
any issues reaching the levers with the cycle pirate pegs? I need to move my feet back so I can tuck better at the track but aren't finding much in the way of rearsets etc.
I just bought the XB rider footpegs Its less than 30 bucks and will give extra legrpoom I cant wait to get them on and try them out, should feel a good bit better for very little money
Hack_job - I have size 11.5 boots and don't have a problem reaching the lever with the Cycle Pirate pegs adjusted straight back at the stock height.
When I go to the track or ride aggressively in the twisties I'm always on the balls of my feet. I move my left foot forward only to shift up or down and if I move it to where my heel is catching the peg the shifter "peg" is right on my boot toe pad. The shifter "peg" is adjusted in the OEM position in the middle of its adjustment.
Here is a video of the Cycle Pirate pegs in action and the foot positioning I describe above:
Instead of only the forward-aft adjustment I wish the OEM lever (or an aftermarket one) also had some adjustment up-and-down. My MV does and I can get it perfectly positioned for the right leverage with rearsets.
Jeff, thanks for the info. These might be the ticket for me.
The stock levers are adjustable up and down. On the shifter side remove the allen bolt at the front and pull the lever off the splined shaft. You can move it up or down a spline to adjust height. On the brake loosen the jamb nuts on the threaded rod at the back and you can adjust the lever up or down.
No I'm an idiot. They called me last night and said, Hey you want the pegs too? So the ebay deal is still probably the best thing if there is one. I just checked and didn't see one. If I would have know it was going to cost this much I would have ordered from knights or Al.
