Hoping to be at the ride tomorrow morning. The wife is out of town for the weekend, which means I'm definitely not going to bed at a reasonable hour tonight! Feels like the right thing to do with so many others heading to Homecoming. |

Did I see you guys standing near 3-4 bikes (one was definitely an XB) at the restaurant on the far end of the Patuxent River bridge today at about 12:30pm? I zoomed by some guys on my Uly, having arrived too late at H-D of Washington. They were having some sort of HOG meet-up, I think. Got hit up by some high school kids to wash my bike (really? Wash my Uly?) and/or make a donation to their football team. It was a warm day, but not too warm for a good ride. |

No problem, Tony. I called them one day during the week and they said to bring bike by at 5p. same day. Took about 45 minutes or so. Well worth the money. Ask Paul. |

Lars, Is the meet place in Bowie this Saturday? I guess this is your ride that you put together for north AA County. If so, it is a most excellent ride. You guys reading these posts, be there or miss another great day of riding. |

Evening everyone. Just dropping in to say hey and let everyone know I'm still alive and have the old x1. Been traveling a bunch for the job the last year and spent a ton of time putting my race truck together to play in the mud. The bike still looks the same: It's the truck that turns heads lately: Nothing better than a 700hp big block in a 3000lb ranger! |

Lars, Good Ride. At least we didn't get passed by any bicyclists when we got stuck behind the cages today. And no suicidal groundhogs today.... |

Came upon a bike accident today on the outer loop of 495 near Andrews AFB. I was on the inner loop, saw all the emergency vehicles and a big group of paramedics working on somebody on the ground. The bike ( looked like a liter bike but it was hard to tell - maybe silver or gray ) was at least 60 or 70 yards ahead of the paramedics. I was trying to figure how a bike could continue that far then thought - wheelie maybe? - or perhaps hit by a car that was behind the bike. Always sad to see and always gives me a pucker. Anyone heard anything about it? |

I heard a blip on the traffic report about a bike down on the Beltway today, but didn't hear where it was. I rode to work today on the OTHER side of the Beltway...it does make me wonder what could have happened. Though the speeds are higher and a mistake more costly, I find highway riding to be much more predictable. Commuting on the Beltway during rush hour is very different than off-peak hours. And in my experience, the eastern side of it has a WAY higher share of squid speed demons than the northern/western side. I was cruising in the left lane, moving quickly, headed to the CABO morning ride in Ft. Washington a couple weekends ago and a dude flew past me by weaving back and forth through the VERY heavy traffic at about 90mph. It must have been thrilling for him, especially in his jeans and t-shirt (with the hem flapping up about mid-spine). He was wearing gloves, though. On the way back, another group, all on Hayabusas, blasted down the centerline, chasing each other. Again, I was doing about 75-80mph, keeping up with traffic in the left lane. Yow. Man, I'm getting old or something. |

There is a few groups that get their kicks blasting and stunting the PG section of the beltway. Are you guys going to the fire works North/ Chesapeake Beach? |

Sorry to hear about any rider going down on the road. That section of the 495 Beltway is being repaved lane by lane. Very dangerous for any biker when there may be 3 inch ledge to get into the next lane. |

Got the 'Bolt12r out of hibernation tonight. Been sitting since Jan. while putting miles on the 1125r. Charged the battery a couple of days ago. Turned over twice and started right up. Riding around near my house, bike is running great. While checking out some local roads in Amish country, I totally tagged a rabbit. Coming around a sweeping curve on Ryceville Road, setting sun in my eyes, I see something in road. Right when I got to lump, it moved and went right under front wheel. I turned around and went back to check it out. Nothing in road (WTF) and no blood on lower fairing or muffler. Looked on other side of road and saw rabbit looking at me from weeds. He did look a little damaged when he tried to hop away. I guess on that road, he was not used to many motorized vehicles, just horse and buggies. Did find some great roads, though. Lars, how many points do I get for a rabbit? |
