So I went to the local drag strip for the first time and had a blast. They only have 1/8th mile around here but that's fine for these bikes. My best run was: Reaction: 0.605 60 ft: 1.904 MPH: 104.65 ET: 7.124 How fast do you think this run would have been in the 1/4 mile? Towards the end of the night I tried launching harder and I would just get wheel spin, either on take off or mid 1st gear. The 1.9 60 ft was about as fast as I could get without lifting too much or spinning out. Any tips? |

See this thread, it should give some ideas about how well you ran. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/573934.html?1277468891 |

nice job smit, a 1.9 60 ft is a good time for your first time out. try dropping the rear tire air pressure to 20 psi if you're spinning. you could drop it to 12 psi if the track is really slick. keep your weight over the tank and try not to bring your legs up too quick to the pegs. clutchless shifting will get you through the gears the quickest, just be careful. missed shifts can ruin a gearbox quick. keep your head below the windscreen for better aero. i would guess you were headed for a 1/4 time in the 10.9's around 128-130 (Message edited by newtobuells on June 26, 2010) |
