Man, for 2K, I do not think I would turn it down. At that price, even if you did not like it, you could clean it up and sell it for more than you paid. |

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words. What maintenance has been neglected? cosmetic, mechanical. To me any tuber that runs is worth more than $2K. |

You should be able to find the airbox cover, they get taken off routinely in favor of forcewinders etc. |

I would say buy it for $2K if the bike starts, runs, shifts through the gears up and down, and tracks straight. The rest can be fixed with little money and/or headache. YMMV. |

In the interest of being 100% honest, I don't think anyone should buy an X1 (or any other tuber) unless you like the idea of putting in some wrench time. These bikes are not and will never be maintenance-free. If you ride them, things will break. If you let them sit, things will still break. That's not to say that they're not great bikes - I have a '00 and '02 X1 and love them both to death, but they do require mechanical attention on a regular basis. All that maintenance though, kind of makes tuber owners have more of a "relationship" experience with their bikes more than newer Buell model owners. The bikes ooze with character, individuality, and they're a hoot to ride as long as you put in the wrench time and stay ahead of some basic preventive maintenance. btw, $2k is a good deal for any running X1. I paid $2k for this one with a hole in the front piston: after a few weekends of spending quality garage time together:

I love those bikes. I really like my m2 & paid 2700 in March . I see a lot of Buells for sale at & around that price . I wouldnt by a Buell Unless you really know its the one you want . I think if I wanted any bike . I could have done better with that money if I bought japanese . If you know you want a Buell than buy it & dont look back .. |

I would buy it if he was my neighbor. I've had my X1 for 35,000 miles and it still starts up like new I ride it to work all of the time. Its a good bike and gets a lot of attention. |

I'd still buy it if he wouldn't budge from the 2500. Does it have the race kit? |
