At the same time at random on start up but both go off after a few minutes of riding. Low fuel light seems NOT to be working but has worked in the past. The only recent mod is the K&N filter. |

I have the same thing when the outside temperature is below 50F or so. There is an old post indicating the instrument cluster and/or fuel sensor needs to be replaced. Looked but did not find it. |

Check Engine and low fuel lights used to come on together some times after I filled the tank). Recently they come on together intermittently (so far only when less then 40km on full tank). Outside temperature doesn't seem to make a difference. One time I also briefly got a system error message. Dealer says they can not find anything wrong. Let me know what you guys find out please. |

The fix is to have the instrument cluster replaced under warranty. The new one will have updated firmware that handles the low fuel sensor properly. |

Myself and a few others on here have had the same issue. It is an easy fix. I took it in to have it looked at but they couldn't replicate the problem. No worries, it shows up as a historical code when they hook up the diagnostic machine. That data was sent along to HD and it was determined that I was a candidate for a new IC. IC came in in about a week and the cluster was swapped same day.

There are two issues at play here. If the CEL and LFL lights come on early and shut off around Op Temp, most likely a bad Rev IC(new is 6.2 or 7.1)- new IC is in order as only ECM can be flashed, not the IC. Long story, but basically it's an historic. If the LFL and CEL come on after reaching Op Temp and linger for a while or never go out, depending on the cold(I've seen 4 dF on mine) it's most likely the sensor, a thermistor device - new fuel pump. In this case it's a "real-time" issue. I have a Rev 6.1 IC but no issues since the new fuel pump. Zack |

Zac4mac I do not have any backlights on the new IC that your shop installed last week. Last night was the first time riding it at night and no lights in the IC. Have you seen this before. Mike |

mine did the same. Common problem. Its a defect fuel sensor in the fuel pump. Only thing to do is replacing the entire fuel pump. Its a warranty job. |

Mike - have you gone into Set-up Mode? The display may be turned off, it goes to 6. Zack |
