Hello everyone- I am currently preparing a RSS1200 for a friend which had been sitting in storage for the last couple of years. Everything is in great shape except for a very bouncy rear shock and fork seals that are on the way out... Does anyone know where I could get a set of seals and maybe have the rear shock rebuilt? Also does anyone here have a ballpark figure on the value of this beauty? It has 7.5k miles on it and really is in fantastic shape apart from the suspension feeling a bit unsettling... |

Well, wasn't one just for sale for $20,000 at some NY meet? |

$8,000 give or take Many parts are still available from Buell. For the suspension I'd check to see if Traktion Dynamics can do it.. |

I have a local shop that can rebuild your rear shock, and may be able to help with the forks as well. He used to work for Traxion Dynamics, but moved back here and is working at a local shop. I thought I had the info with me, but I don't. I'll look for it tonight. If I can't find it, I'll pull off the rear bodywork on the XB as I know they put their decal on that reservoir when they rebuilt that shock. He looked at my WP shock on my S2 (I believe the same shock as used on the RSS) and told me he could rebuild that one for me. I just hadn't stopped riding it long enough to take it to him... |

Joe, Sorry for the delay! My receipt went through the washer! I didn't have a chance to pull off the fairing to get the info until now... Anyways, the name of the shop is "Innovative Suspensions". Their number is 716-625-4372. It is located in Lockport, NY. I don't remember the guys name, but if you call and ask about rebuilding a Buell WP shock, you'll get him. He's the only one at the shop that does it. I hope that helps... |

Race Tech has the main seal for the shock...they can also do the rebuild. If the fork seals are the same as the later WP's, they have those seals as well. |
