After fumbling with gloves and wallet trying to get money out for a stupid toll I figured it would be a good idea to get a transponder for the Uly.I was thinking of putting it behind the windscreen where it would be hidden and protected too.Of course there's all these instructions about metal and angles, etc.Has anyone put their's here and had it work okay? | ||

Use the search, this has been discussed many times. Don't even bother mounting it, just make sure your plate is registered to your account and drive on through. I gave up with the EZ pass not reading regardless of angle, position, location on bike, etc. Some spots work better than others, but the failure rate is still too high for me that I leave it in my jacket and if it reads, then great. Otherwise I putt on through. | ||

Have had good luck with placing transponder in the map pouch of the tank bag. | ||

+1 Froggy. Although I frequent a toll where the gate will not go up without detecting the EZ Pass. Their detection equipment sucks! I attached it to a wristband, I have to stick out my arm so the toll operator can physically scan it, its annoying. | ||

As I near a toll point, I usually just jamb the pass in between the flyscreen & windshield until after I roll through & get back up to speed. Then I pull it & slide it back into my jacket or jeans pocket. It would be nice to have an extra pass that I could just mount behind the flyscreen or somehow mount otherwise. | ||

I saw a guy with it attached to his knee by sticking it to the velcro where his knee sliders attach. But I just keep mine in the map pocket of my tank bag. | ||

I had mine mounted under the lid of the top case on the Uly. I initially tried it on the windshield but I lost 2 of them that way. On the Firebolt I just leave it in the little storage area under the passenger seat. | ||

If my side cases are on and loaded, I put it in the top facing the correct way, or in my tank bag. I have a sleeve pocket by my wrist that works also. I gave up on the big suction cup mount, as it failed and I luckily saved it from being run over. | ||

Sorry about the forum faux-pas Froggy.I thought the tank bag was a good idea except that I don't have one.Guess it'll ride in the jacket for now.Thruway authority must know about the read issues,that's why they say do not use the dedicated E-ZPass only lanes.Oh well. |
