So I have about 1500 miles on the 07 now and when I ride if feels like (for lack of better terms) like a car with the e-brake on. When I let off the throttle it practically throws me off the front. Any ideas? | ||

Sticking brake caliper(s) or bad wheel bearings. Next time you ride it for a while, CAREFULLY feel the front and rear brake disks and wheel hubs. If something's excessively hot, that's your problem. | ||

Not my first vtwin. I'll have to try while pulling the clutch. The slowing just seems a bit excessive. Can probably get a ride in tomorrow and I will check the brake pad heat too. Just for more info: I will usually be riding around 3-3500rpm when I let off the throttle. Could the wheel bearings really go bad at such low miles? THanks guys. | ||

If that is extreme engine braking you're experiencing, try just using the next higher gear. These bikes loaf along just fine at lower rpms, just be careful not to lug it down. | ||

The rear wheel bearings have been somewhat problematic on these bikes, but I doubt they'd cause appreciable rolling resistance before you noticed them spewing shrapnel. Just do a visual on the bearings (particularly the rear ones). If you see significant rusty looking grease coming out of the seals, that's a problem. Note- it's normal for the metal surface of the outer race itself to rust. | ||

I fitted an after market brake lever that after about a week was jamming the master cylinder piston slightly. It gave the problem you are describing. |
